The source of the sound turned out to be a meteorite crashing through an elevated highway, creating a huge crater below it. News articles began popping up, and the news station did not hesitate to cover the incident. Thankfully, no one was killed in the strike.

The area was closed off for investigation, and to make sure no one accidentally drove into there. From what Luna heard, her school continued to operate as normal, but there was no doubt that everyone there was shaken up from it. In fact, the whole city was. As annoying as she was, this also included Tiffany Fluffit, who gave her report on it.

Luna couldn't help but feel uneasy as well. While she was used to the occasional earthquakes and seeing a bear roam around the city every now and then, a meteorite was the least of her expectations. She really hoped it wasn't going to lead to some greater disaster.

Luna was now serving the last day of her suspension. The week passed by like a blur. If anything good came out of it, it was that she didn't have to worry about the nasty bullying she had to face every day. In fact, she would give anything to continue her suspension, but she knew she'd have to go back soon. Regardless of what happened the previous week, the bullying would definitely start back up on Monday. Maybe dropping out or getting expelled wasn't a bad idea.

In one area of Los Angeles stood a diner. It was just like any other diner, except all but one of the tables were empty and all the staff members and customers were cowering in fear in a corner. This was because those sitting at the one occupied table were none other than Wolf and Snake, two members of the Bad Guys. Unfortunately for the staff, Wolf and Snake loved coming to this diner.

Just then, the doors opened, and in walked a young girl dressed in all black. The evening sun reflected off her shoulder length midnight-black hair. As if it was nothing, she took a seat at one of the empty booths and moved her messy bangs from her ice blue eyes.

One of the waitresses reluctantly approached her so that she could take her order. Once the girl made her decision, she told the waitress before putting her headphones on.

"Well look, if it isn't Edgar Allen Poe's daughter," Snake smirked.

"Oh, don't be like that," Wolf replied. "She seems like a pretty nice kid. Yet she's not joining the others over there..."

"Heh, she must have a death wish for that."

Luna was oblivious to their conversation as she was listening to the song that was currently playing. The people in the corner gave her a look as if to say "Are you crazy? Get over here!"

She brushed them off and continued to listen to her music until the waitress came back with a mug of hot chocolate and set it down on the table, before fleeing back to the corner.

Luna took her headphones off and began to sip on her drink. It was very rich and creamy, which was why she liked coming to this diner. It was another one of her favorite establishments besides the cafe. She glanced at Wolf and Snake.

I wonder what it would be like to never be bothered or harassed.

Pushing that thought to the back of her head, Luna put her headphones back on and continued to drink her hot chocolate. Sadly, this peace she had would be over in just a few days. And now, she felt more alone than ever.

Luna left the diner a little while after Wolf and Snake did, and was now on her way to the bus stop. She was in a bit of a hurry to get there, and if she missed it, it would be at least a half hour until it came again.

Dammit, I can't be late, she thought.

"Hey, where do you think you're going, freak?!"

Luna felt something grab onto her wrist before being thrust into an alleyway. She fell forwards onto the pavement, breaking her fall with her elbows.

"Ugh..." she moaned. She opened her eyes only to see a familiar trio towering over her.

"It was a lucky coincidence running into you," Heather sneered.

"What's wrong? Are you upset that your suspension is almost over?" Gwen teased with a huge smirk on her face. "Well, I suppose it's for the better."

"It's a total shame you weren't hit by the meteorite," Heather sneered.

What did she just say? Luna stood up and could feel her blood beginning to boil. Someone could have seriously gotten injured, and the ones who delighted in tormenting Luna the most, still had the nerve to mock her for it. Did they even know when to stop?

"How could you say that?" Luna growled, her tone a mixture between anger and sorrow. "Don't you see how big the destruction was? Someone could've been killed if they were there!"

"Yes, and it should have been you," Heather shot back. "Getting struck and burned to death would have been perfect for a witch like you."

"Aw, what's the matter? Don't want to admit it?" Cassidy teased as she twirled her hair.

Luna was at a loss for words. She was angry. She was sad. She wanted to say something, anything. But nothing would come out. Deep down, she hated how that meteorite took away a chunk of the city. How she wished it could have been prevented...

"Ooh, what's in here?" Gwen giddily asked as she snatched Luna's bag and unzipped it.

"Get out of there!" Luna snapped. She reached to grab it back but was shoved against the wall by Cassidy before being knocked to the ground. She knew she was in for another beating.

"What's going on here?"

Hearing those words caused the three of them to stop dead in their tracks. They all turned their heads to the source of the voice, and to their horror, it belonged to none other than Mr. Wolf, the presumed de facto leader of the Bad Guys.

Wasting no time, they ran off screaming, with Gwen dropping the bag in the process.

"Heh, I wonder how long it'll take them to notice that I nabbed some of their things," Wolf smirked at himself, holding up a small array of jewelry. He glanced down towards the bag, then looked over at the girl slumped against the wall. She was hugging her knees, and it looked like she was crying. Why hadn't she run away like the others did?

That girl looks familiar...wait, she was at the diner! Wolf realized. And that bag...it's hers, isn't it? Wolf stared down at the girl's black messenger bag. He wanted to steal it as well as whatever was inside it for himself and the rest of the gang, but seeing the girl the way she was, he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, he knelt down to her level.

"Hey, are you alright?" Wolf asked the girl with genuine concern in his voice. Why was he acting this way towards her?

The girl turned her head up, looking into his large, yellow eyes. She was trying to fight back her tears, even though a few were now trickling from her ice blue eyes.

"I just want to be taken away from here," she sputtered out.

Hopefully nothing sounds out of character. Original scenes concerning canons aren't super easy for me to write. If anything seems off, please let me know and I'll see what I can do to fix it. See you in the next chapter.
