The next days passed blissfully. The new family had decided to stay at Bleach's house so that they could do everything the young boy dreamed of. Both April and Ramee knew that they would never be able to take away the loneliness he experienced as he was growing but they were determined to give him positive memories. They stayed in the home and watched movies and talked but they didn't know that Bleach's favorite moment was when he would wake up knowing that his parents were sleeping in the other room.
"Yo Bleach hurry the fuck up we're going to be late." April could hear an impatient voice that sounded like Jaylen's. The woman grumbled as she tried to ignore the man and go back to sleep. She pressed herself into the warmth of the sheets and sighed happily as she enjoyed a few moments to herself, not even hearing Chase's response as she held on to the gentleness and calm of sleep.
"Bleach! Hurry up!" His tone was more loud and impatient as she banged on the front door. April groaned as she felt Ramee grumbling to himself.
"I'm almost done." The boy replied. His voice was muffled and his words weren't clear which meant that his mouth was probably full.Jaylen's banging didn't cease but it was joined by a soft knocking on their bedroom door. "Jesus. Come in." Ramee grumbled further as he sat up in bed. The movement caused April to give up on sleep as she begrudgingly opened her eyes. The tired woman wrapped her long arms around Ramee's torso as she placed her head on his chest. Her annoyance was swept away when she felt Ramee gently brush away her wavy hair from her face.
"Thanks." She mumbled as she watched the door slowly open and reveal Chase O'Dell who, as she'd suspected, was chewing on a sandwich.
"Can you tell Jaylen to stop banging on the fucking door. The whole neighborhood heard him." Ramee's voice wasn't coated with the dregs of sleep which lead her to think that he'd been up a while ago.
"I already let him in he's just standing by the door and knocking."
"Tell him to stop that shit." Ramee bit out.
Bleach nodded at his words and walked out of the room to do as instructed. April didn't really know Jaylen all that well but he'd always seemed like a mature, calm and collected type of guy so she was slightly surprised when she heard the banging start up again as soon as Bleach walked back into their room.
"Jaylen I swear to god. Knock one more time. I fucking dare you!" April warned. She hated having her sleep disrupted and at that moment Jaylen was enemy number one.
"...Sorry April I didn't know you were here!" The Siren smiled as she reveled in the silence. Finally; some peace.
"We're going to Paleto." Bleach explained. April frowned. "You're robbing a bank?" The boy shrugged as he swallowed. "They're robbing it from the inside. They need a hacker."
"Why doesn't someone else do it?"
"He's the only one in Street team who knows how. The others are learning but no one else can do it." Ramee explained, as if her son going out to rob a bank was the most logical move."What about Hydra? Can't anyone there do it?"
"They're all busy cooking meth. Some of them are helping set up the farms. Besides, K doesn't like it when they work together." They kept the groups isolated in order to prevent connections in case the police busted one of them, he explained patiently."Who's going on the job?" Ramee redirected his attention to the boy. Just like that Ramee settled into his role as a mentor and a CG leader. She could hardly believe it. While he was her mentor he never really gave her instructions or tasks. April thought back to Ray's story about how Randy had woken her up at 3am. According to Novah it was a thing he did. April found herself grateful for not having Randy as her mentor.
