Y/n POV
Finally, after what seemed like forever, every box was now gone and everything was in place. I felt much more relieved now knowing I could relax for a bit. The owner of the building mentioned that more would be coming in, in about a day or two according to the movers. I had most essentials though. Bedding, kitchenware, furniture and many other things. Most of the lesser used things were in that box which was still by the movers.
I slumped onto the couch, sighing. Everything happening all at once was tiring to take in. I just sat there for a minute, breathing in and out and looking at my new living space. I'd be living in the city that never sleeps, a brand new life that everyone went wild for. Maybe I'd meet some people I could befriend here.
Which reminded me that some of my previous friends moved here too.
I thought about exploring the place. I'd heard about the ever so famous casino in the center of the city and the small café tucked into a corner of the large, bustling streets. I thought about just walking around and getting familiar with the area before actually visiting attractions and places. I decided to chill for maybe an hour or two, since it was still early and by the time an hour would pass there would be plenty of time to explore.
I turned on the TV (which, yes, was certainly there) and mindlessly scrolled, eventually settling on something I'd seen before. I didn't want to pay much attention, only needing some background to get lost in thought. Minutes turned into hours and eventually I ended up staying in the apartment and planned on going out tomorrow. Most of my day was talking with the movers about my few other things and just chilling. It felt nice to not have too much stress or worries for once.
I felt lazy for not going out today, but I needed a break anyway. I decided that just relaxing was good enough for the day. I moved from the TV to scrolling on my phone and eventually ordered fast food. Soon enough, night fell and yet the view of the city was pretty much the same, only more alluring. The illuminating, hypnotic flashing lights and billboards for all sorts of things. The many skyscrapers filled the place, and yet the most eye-catching building was the bright, huge casino that I longed to visit. A few of my friends went there and told me how amazing it was, which only deepened my desire even to just see it in person. I loved the feeling of being in a casino. It felt like I could do whatever I wanted without a worry, it felt comfortable almost. I also picked up on gambling, and really well at that. My main games being Poker, Blackjack amd Solitaire. Almost every time I'd be the one with all of the chips. All of the money, and I knew how to play and when to cash out. All of this skill came from simply watching others play, analyzing every move they made and I'd guess every bluff, all from just watching other people play. I wanted to try my luck at this very casino as rumour had it that the man who owns the place was unbeatable. I wasn't too confident, but I was willing to try it out.
I stood outside for a bit longer, letting the cool night breeze take over as the my chest buzzed with excitement. I'd have to get into contact with some friends who moved here too, they planned on staying here for a while too. I already planned tomorrow and the outfit I'd wear, so I didn't worry much about it. I decided to head to bed since my eyes felt heavy. Lazily walking to my bed, I sunk into the soft covers and almost immediately felt sleepy.
My eyes soon closed and the world around me darkened as my body slowly sunk even more into the covers and sleep took over.
