Y/N POV

What a year it's been.

I move to some city, making money out of the casino it's built around. And I meet both my best friend and someone who, quite astonishingly, beat me at gambling, the one thing I never failed at. Then I befriend him and it turns out he's actually the president of this entire place, though, you'd probably assume he'd be much more private. A full year goes by and now I've reconnected with an old friend whom I've dearly missed, befriended the president (crazy, isn't it? Like out of a storybook or something) and I couldn't ask for anything more. We celebrate holidays together throughout the year, and it only builds my bonds with the two best people I could be friends with. It was like living a dream in real life.

Turns out, not all presidents are trash.

I sit on the carpeted floor of Alex's penthouse, Hazel next to me and Aria on my other side, waiting for Alex to be back from the casino. Tiger cuddles up to me, his fur soft. The time? Twelve in the afternoon. Yeah, we got here quite late using a key that Alex gave to Hazel a few days before, but we had some things to do. Alex still had casino duties for the time being. Though, because of Christmas, he does not need to be cooped up in his office or at the casino for the whole day. Aria twists her ice blue hair impatiently as we sit in silence. As far as we know, Aria is quite chilled and calm, but impatient when she is excited or happy. "What're we even doing today besides giving our gifts?" Hazel asks, legs crossed as she fiddles with the strings of her hoodie. "We could probably bake cookies," Aria says. "And the tree decorating." I chirp in.

"I crave Christmas movies. We have to!" Hazel exclaims, earning nods from both of us. I check my watch, the time reading "12:25".
"It's been eleven minutes." I say, resting my head in my palm. "The pendejo said ten minutes!!" Hazel whines. She is cut off by the sound of a door opening and a sudden squeal from Hazel, a drastic change of tone. We perk up from the lounge, peeking to the doorway. There stands Alex, holding a packet. "Sorry I took a while, I went out to get something." He says, setting the packet down and sighing. Dumping the contents out, four boxes lay on the kitchens counter. Tiger dashes to the kitchen with Hazel, and then Aria and I. "OOHH!!" Hazel shouts as we make our way. Looking over, I see text on the box saying 'DIY GINGERBREAD HOUSE'. "Hazel wants to watch a movie later, by the way." Aria says, which we all agree to.

"We should probably decorate the tree first." Alex speaks, being cut off by Hazel. "Oh no no no first you're changing out of those clothes and getting something more comfortable on. You ain't spending Christmas in those work clothes." An ever so slight pink dusts Alex's face at Hazel's words. "Hell no. Deal with it." He responds. To this, Hazel only walks to him and forcefully pushes at his side. "Get to your wardrobe now, Flatty." Alex groans. I stifle a laugh while Aria isn't afraid to let out her cackle. In the corner of my eye, I see Tiger fleeing to a room with a ton of cat toys.

"Absolutely not, you're not getting me to-" Hazel whispers unintelligible words in his ear, causing the pink to slightly deepen and he immediately gives up. "Alright fine, just shut up!" And Hazel let's an evil laugh slip. Alex begrudgingly marches to where his wardrobe is, whispering swears intentionally loudly. A few minutes later, he comes back with a hoodie and sweat pants on, complimented with a deep scowl and a frown on his face.
As though I am paralyzed, my eyes linger for a few seconds. I don't know what comes over me, which most definitely causes a small pink on my face. I play it off, and as if a miracle happened, Hazel didn't notice. "The Alex Quackity is wearing normal clothing? Oh, thank my lucky star. Am I allowed to bring the paparazzi? This is news of the year!" I laugh as he crosses his arms. "Lose the beanie dummy." Aria chirps. "You're pushing me to my limits, I swear!" Alex responds, not moving from the doorway. "But it's Christmas!" Hazel pulls the end of her sentence. She runs to Alex, pouting. "And I'm your best friend right? Won't you do anything for your bestest most best friend?" She questions jokingly, putting on the most horrid attempt at puppy eyes. Alex looks up as though thinking for a few seconds. "Nah, wasn't I stealing your best friend? Y/n's my best friend now. Not you, sorry Haze." Hazel fake crys. "You betrayed me! I trusted you with my life and now I'm not even your best friend anymore! Fine, I'll go to Aria then." And she walks, arms crossed, to Aria standing and waiting to hug and 'console' her. Hazel looks at me. "I trusted you Y/n how could you! I even let you take all the [Favourite Food] from my house!" I laugh at her. "Hm, I don't know. The [favourite food] wasn't enough." I say with a smile. "But I gave you so muuuuch." And I 'reconsider'.
