[7] They Joke Again

Hey guys, so I'm thinking about finishing the book in 8 chapters or 10 but like idk cos like what else can I write about? Cos like this chapter can be very long and the next one can be long too so uh yh! Then, I'm gonna write my new book called, "My Brother's Best Friend" so uh yh. TY <333 ILYSMM Here's Chapter 7!

*NEXT DAY*

It was a new day. A fresh start, nothing bad could happen. Well, nothing more worse than what Adam was planning. Olivia woke up the next morning and put on his slippers. She walked into the bathroom and started to brush her teeth.

"Hey," Joshua called out. "Those aren't my super duper fluffy pink bunny slippers are they?"

"Nope," She said, the toothbrush still in her mouth. She wiggled her feet to make him jealous.

He rested his head on her shoulder and whispered to himself, "If we keep on laughing and joking about weird yet funny things, everything will go back to normal, the way it's meant to be."

"I heard that, Josh." She giggled. 

"Hang on, those are my super duper fluffy pink bunny slippers!"

"So what? My feet were cold!" She whined as she spat out and rinsed her mouth.

"Okay, I'll let you off just this once." He said as he pecked on her cheek.

"Okay, hurry up and brush your teeth Josh. I gotta wash my face now!" 

"Okay," And with that he brushed his teeth and left the bathroom. While Olivia washed her face, Joshua cooked up something. He served the plates and set up everything nicely. Olivia was still, washing her face? How long did she take? Joshua went upstairs to check on her. But when he entered the bathroom, she wasn't there. Oh no, how? How could this day become any worse? Had Olivia been taken by, well, ADAM?! He was going frantic thinking about what he would do to her. He was about to check the whole of downstairs. But when he was about to step on the first step, someone grabbed his shoulder. 

"BOO!" Olivia said, laughing her head off in the end.

"OLIVIA! You scared the life out of me! Never do that again, okay? EVER!" He felt his heart beat decrease as he calmed himself down. He really sh!t himself.

"By the way, Liv, the food's getting cold."

*AT THE DINNER TABLE*

"Y'know I still can't believe you pulled that prank on me, which if you can't tell, almost killed me!" Joshua said, eating his food.

"What?" She said, smiling. "Did you think Mr. Adam came to kidnap me from out of nowhere?" She said jokingly but stopped. 

There was knocking on the door. Oh god, is it Adam? This time, Joshua was going to punch this b!tch harder than he'd done before. What if, it wasn't? Maybe, he was just over-thinking this all. Maybe it wasn't all about Adam. Maybe, his thoughts had driven him so mad, he'd become careless of time and everything around him. His thoughts swirled around in his brain, but the knocking on the door was a knock on his brain that stopped the thoughts from rotating in a circular motion. His thoughts were shaking inside. 

"Josh," Olivia's voice called, though it was muffled. "Josh, go answer the door!"

"Hmm?" He snapped out of what ever state he was in.

"Go open the door, someone's been knocking!"

"Oh, right. Sorry, Liv." And so, off he went to the door. He was trembling, he didn't want to open the door. Not now, after all the thoughts swirled in his mind. Nervously, his hand grabbed the handle but he quickly shook his hand off. What if it was Adam? Just to be sure, he checked the peep hole. A man in a yellow jacket, that twinkled without any light, was stood outside the door. Joshua opened the door, feeling safer, knowing that it wasn't adam.

"Good Morning Sir, we have investigated this case and had found that the evidence you had given us, has some things to it. Firstly, it had more than 1 type of DNA tested on it twice."

"Twice?" His voice, croaked.

"Yes, we just had to make sure that it was working properly."

"Well, who's the other person's finger?" Joshua thought to himself.

"And secondly, one fingerprint tested to be Mr Adam Faze, and this sir, was the person you had talked about. Am I correct, Mr Rodrigo?"

"Absolutely." He said, one hand resting on the door, the other gesturing to make sure the policeman knew he was certain.

"Thank you, for your time and please stay safe. Remember, if you have any other issues, please inform us and we will be right with you, as soon as possible. Good day, sir."

Joshua shut the door and went back to Olivia. 

"Hey," She said, kissing him on the lips. 

"Hey," He said, kissing her back.

They pulled away and Joshua signalled to come sit down at the sofa so they could talk, face to face.

"So, what happened and who was at the door?"

"Okay, so firstly," He gulped as he took a pause. "It wasn't Adam, but Adam will come up later as I speak."

 She smiled at that, as she thought it was a joke to make her laugh. He always used to joke about everything. He never took anything seriously, and that's what made her like him so much, if she was being honest.

"It was the police, well, A policeman and he came to tell us that he tested the DNA of the brick and the paper and it came out as 2 people? I know, strange, right?"

Olivia stood up when she heard this. 

"What?" She said, raising her voice slightly. She was just as confused as he was. "But how, how's that possible?"

"I know, who could be so evil to work together with a guy like him?"

"I know, a guy who breaks girls hearts and crushes them to pieces so they feel like they are nothing and they-" 

"Sh,sh,sh." He rocked her in a circular motion as his hands couldn't help but wrap around her small waist. She looked down at his hands around her and she smiled. So did he.

"Didn't I tell you that I can't help myself when I'm around you, Liv?" He said, whispering to settle her down, and let the mood change. Her cheeks turned red and Joshua noticed this so he pinched her cheeks ever so lightly. 

"He didn't deserve me." She said as she looked straight into those chocolate brown eyes. It reminded her of when they first met but also the time the Grammy award slipped out of her hands and he was there to catch it for her. She thought to herself, "Hmm, maybe if I fall, he'll help me get up again or catch me."

"No he didn't," And he pulled her in for a deep, long kiss. Then they pulled away and looked at each other, admiring both of their beautiful features before having a cute little talk.

"Ah, we've come a long way, haven't we, Liv?"

"Yes we have." They chuckled amongst themselves.

"Do you remember that time when you dropped the award and I was there to catch it. Then we fought, then we made up and now here we are, together for hopefully ever." He said as he later kissed her forehead.

"Ah yes. I'll never forget that day. It's made us who we are now, I guess." And with that their day carried on.
