"911,what's your emergency?"the voice sounded from the other end of the line,as calm and collected as ever. Then on the other end was Nancy, who was trying to talk through her tears as her hands shook whilst holding the telephone.

"Please help my friend isn't waking up from her sleep and her breathing is very light and she looks extremely pale,"she all but rambled out, watching as the girl beside her lay motionless, her skin indeed wan and greyscale.

There was a short static through the line before someone had started speaking again, asking more questions. "Any other things happening to her?"they asked, voices still steady, making Nancy calm down and stress more at the same time. She didn't know whether they were doing it to keep her calm or whether there was actually nothing wrong with Robin. No there must be something wrong, she's barely breathing! she thought and rubbed her temple worriedly.

"Um,any other things..well her temperature was really high,102.5°f so she had a fever,I'm not sure how it's right now but I don't think it's changed, and she just looked really tired, along with the white face of course,"she mumbled, keeping her hand closed around Robins, "but can you please just get here quickly,I'm realy scared for her."

"Miss we need you to stay calm please,we will be there as fast as possible after you tell us your address,"the paramedics,or police or whoever she was talking to right now, replied professionally.

Finally getting her thoughts together, she told them her address and other stuff they asked her for, such as age, name and surname.
After they had hung up and reassured her that they would be there soon, she had to wait the few nerve wrecking minutes, trying to pull her eyes away from Robin in case the sight would make her cry again.

What if she never wakes up?What if she has a strange undiagnosed disease? What if she's dying? What if she'd already dead-
She couldn't quieten her mind in any way, terrified of 'what if'.

Although soon there was a loud knock on the door and she could see flashing light from her window, the siren causing her to plug her ears in a frenzy. They were finally here and thats all that mattered for now,she told herself whilst walking down the stairs and opening the door immediately.

"Hello, this is the address we were called to,"the paramedic stated, holding a clipboard with a piece of paperwork attached to it,"you need to confirm that it's you quickly."

She rolled her eyes and grabbed it from him quickly, scribbling her name and age down before handing it back and letting two people through the door.My girlfriend could be dead and they're asking me to confirm that it's me,obviously it's fucking me,have they seen how I look right now?she groaned about how annoying they were in her head, walking behind them into the kitchen.

They had medical equipment which they held either in their hands or on their backs, stuff that they could handle of course.A medical bag with what Nancy guessed were bandages and stuff for wounds, and a box/machine thing labelled 'oxygen' in their hands, little wheels sticking out from the bottom of it.

She almost felt woozy when she remembered Robins fragile state,so she lead them to her room and showed them the girl.
They gave her more paper work to fill in,this time about Robin and not about her.

"So you said that she had trouble breathing?"one of them asked, checking Robins pulse with two fingers pressed against her wrist, then placing them to her neck and doing the same.
