Breakfast is awkward. At least for me.

Everyone's going about their own thing, Ghost doesn't come to breakfast as usual and everyone else is on their phone. Including Swift.

I'm staring into the side of his face and wondering whether he is as bothered as I am about yesterday.

His eyes met mine. He smirks, winks and I'm suddenly on guard again.

I slide off my seat with my plate.

"Hey, where are you off to?" Rebel asks.

"I'm taking this to Ghost."

"Awwwwwn."

"Shut up, M.C." I hiss and then hop off to ghost's room.

I stop at his door and hesitate. Do I knock? Do girlfriends knock? They should right?

Wait.

He's my boyfriend, right?

As if on queue, the door swings open and Ghost stands in the doorway, arms crossed and smirking. "I knew you would be here."

"What? How?"

"I heard you bang your head against my door just now."

"Shoot."

He smiles at me and that butterfly feeling comes back again. It's fuzzy and warm and before I know it I'm smiling back, so wide that my cheeks sting.

He steps aside. "Are you gonna come in?"

"Yes, yes. Right."

I step into the room and sit on his bed, legs crossed and faced down. Now that I'm here, I feel more awkward than I did in the living room. Why did I come here again?

"Is that for me?" Ghost says, pointing at my plate.

"No, I brought it so I can eat it in your face and you can see what you missed."

"Damn."

"Yup."

"Too bad," He says this with a straight face but there's amusement in his tone. "And for a second there, I thought you had a crush on me."

Jesus. "Shuuut uppp!"

"What? Did I say anything that's not true?"

"Well," I jump up and point an accusing finger at his face. My face is on fire, so I need to embarrass him  "What about you, huh?" I take a step closer and poke his chest. "What about me being all kind and awesome and shiz?"

"What about it?"

"Aren't you embarrassed that I'm pointing it out like this?" I cross my arms and give a coy smile. "The big strong Ghost is actually a soft teddy bear. Who thinks I'm the bee's knees."

He chuckles and brushes a strand of hair behind my ear. "Yeah, and I meant every word of it. Why should I be embarrassed?"

His dark brown eyes leave me speechless once again. He stares at me, and I can't tell what he's thinking but I know that it makes my heart race.

I press my forehead against his chest. "I've never done this before." I breathe. "I don't know what I'm doing."

He wraps his arms around my waist and presses me against him. He rests his head atop mine. "Neither have I."

"So what do we do?"

"I don't know, I imagine dating someone is like having a best friend."

"That you get to kiss?"

He chuckles and plants a soft kiss on my forehead. "Yes, that you get to kiss."

I smile and wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him to me. I giggle into the crook of his neck.

"Since when are you so clingy?" I hear the amusement in his voice.

I shrug. "I don't know, I just really want to be close to you right now."

His voice drops to mischievous. "How close."

"Like, fusion. Inside your skin."

Sudden laughter bubbles out of him. "Inside my skin?"

"Was that weird?"

"Not at all."

"Really?" I pull away from him and raise a brow.

"Of course not. In fact, I know a secret method that will magically let us fuse. He leans close to me as if he wants to tell me a secret.

I narrow my brows. "Really?"

"Mhm." He leans closer. "I heard that kissing causes two people to fuse."

My face turns red again. "Is that so?"

His face is so close to mine. So close that I can feel his breath fanning against mine. My heart is pounding against my chest and before I can second guess myself I quickly press my lips against his and pull away.

I groan and cover my face with both hands. "It didn't work."

He laughs again and pulls my hands from my face. "Well, it's not gonna work if you do it like that."

He wraps an arm around my waist and one around my neck, pulling me closer. It happens so fast that I almost forget to breathe, in fact. I can hardly think. He doesn't break eye contact as his lips brush against mine.

"Knock knock."

In a second, we are on different sides of the room.

M.C pokes his head through the door. "Hey, guys."

"What?" Ghost says, irritated.

"Whoa, rude much. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you two were up to something diabolical."

"Good thing you don't know any better."

"Ouch, Ghost. You don't even bother to spare my feelings."

"What up, M.C?" I try to keep my voice stable but my heart is pounding.

"I just came to check in on you two." M.C smiles innocently.

"We're not five," I say, eyes narrowed to slits.

"Woah." M.C raises both hands in defense. "I must have interrupted something really important to get such an attitude from you y/n. I apologize." He sounds all but sorry.

"M.C, have you told Ghost?" Rebel asks, he leans against the door frame and twirls his sai's between his fingers.

M.C makes a face of realization and smacks his forehead. "Oh, yeah. That's why I came."

"What?" Ghost asks.

Rebel answers, smirking. "Swift has a mission for us."
