I exhale, lay down against the cold concrete, and count the stars to slow my racing heart. I lose count. I start again. Lose count. Again. Repeat.

"Y/N!" Swift calls.

I turn my head in their direction. Raise an eyebrow- yes?

"You seem unoccupied. Get up and help us out with somethin'."

I purse my lips, brows furrowed. I don't want to do anything for Swift. But then again, it's for the team. Not just Swift. It's an opportunity to be helpful.

I'm about to get up but Ghost holds up his hand. "No. No. Lay back down."

I pause and furrow my brows.

"Come on, Ghost." Swift groans. "When did you become her surrogate father? Hm?"

"Don't be an asshole, Swift. It's too dangerous for her. She shouldn't be out here in the first place."

I flinch. He does sound a lot like my dad right now.

"Oh, so you don't think your girlfriend can handle it?" Swift smirks. Turns out to me. "You hear that, Sweetheart? Your little boyfriend thinks your incompetent."

"What the actual fuck, Swift-"

"I can do it," I say, I dust my jeans and straighten. "Whatever it is. I can try."

"Alright. We'll take a vote. All in favor of Y/N assisting the mission, raise your hand." Swift says, he raises his hand.

I raise my hand.

It's just two of us.

I feel betrayed somehow.

I narrow my eyes at M.C. "I thought we were friends. And you," I turn to Ghost. "You're supposed to be my super cool boyfriend."

I turn to rebel. "And you... Well no, I expected this from you." I point an angry finger from Ghost to M.C. "but not you guys!"

M.C smiles. "Y/N, you know I love ya..."

"But?" I narrow my eyes.

"Uh..."

"Yes?"

"But, Ghost has something to tell you."  He says quickly, pushing Ghost forward.

Coward.

I blink at Ghost. He doesn't meet my eyes. And when he does, he looks reluctant.

"Ghost?"

"Um...Y/N, you see-"

"They won't say it, so I will, your pretty damn incapable." Rebel says.

I gasp dramatically, both hands fly to my chest. Rebel shrugs.

"That's a bit true! I'm pretty damn capable!" I say. I have never been so offended in my life. "Right, M.C?"

M.C sucks a sharp breath through his teeth. Averts his eyes. "Wow, look at that moon, has it always been there?" He points at the sky with fake awe

"M.C"

"That's one stylish moon."

I huff. "Ghost?"

"No, you're not incapable. Rebels just being an Asshole." He glares at Rebel.

"At least I'm not a-"

"Y/N, it's just that..." Ghost sighs. "You've been locked up for a long time and you don't know a lot of things. You recently learned what trees are. You don't know how to defend yourself and I don't want to push you into a position when you're not properly trained."
