Saphs pov:
Mike finally pressed play after finishing all the rules. The most boring part of the night he says them every time and rarely are any of them except the bed by 11 rule broken, we usually get on well and have a great time. There is rarely a fight or anything broken. And we don't wake each other up because half the time Mike or Cameron wake us up. Because we've slept in too late or someone has a loud sneeze. We once got to attack Tyler with water pistols. He woke the whole room up and he sneezed that loud. I brought myself back to reality as the film started looking around the room. I smirked watching Johnny blush at Ally on the screen. We sang along and ate snacks. We all cried during letter to america. Other than singing we laughed and smiled. It was nice and peaceful for a change. Mo fighting or things being thrown. We may fight constantly but there are times where we get on and we truly are just a big crazy love filled family. The film eventually ended so we had a half an hour debate on what film we would watch yet grease eventually winning, groans were heard from both boys and girls the same with cheers. I looked over to see Joel and Johnny getting real close.
I looked around at everyone. If you had asked me two years ago I would've said that I would never find another diary after losing Rosie and then being told I wouldn't be returning to where our friends are. I still feel lost the death of phoenix and Blare sinking in. My social worker tried to hide it from me.I wanted to message her, tell her I hated her for stopping contact with my friends. I missed their funerals. I never get to say goodbye.
I opened my eyes watching the film as summer nights came on and everyone sang and carried on hope playing sandy and Logan Danny the two of them loving this film. We all laughed at them, just having a good time. I smiled a lot. Not as much as I would have my first movie night here, I fit in now. Tyler and Mark shoved me about trying to get me to dance. I gave in swaying slightly. Before taking a bite of a cookie. "Your boring dance". Tyler giggled. "No, I can't dance,'' I said blushing. "Ughh fine. We all enjoyed the film as the sun began to set through the window. We somehow ended up watching grown ups two. We all laughed the whole way through and they boys cried during the ballet scene which i snapped a picture of. I took loads of photos through all of the films knowing I would send them all to Mike later. "OK this film is amazing". Joel said holding onto Johnny for support though his laughter. The film ended and the credits rolled so we put on a random playlist.
"Right what are we gonna do now". Hope groaned. "Umm truth or dare". I suggested. The rest agreed. "Johnny truth or dare''. I asked softly. "Dare". He sighed regretting it. "I dare you to show us a picture of your first crush". I said evilly. He showed me a pick of a girl from a show called girl meets world. "OK your turn". I smiled. "Umm Joel truth or dare". He asked, smiling. "Truth". Joel said softly. "One food you could make illegal what would it be". He asked, blushing. "Definitely pineapple pizza". Joel said a bit too excited caused protests through the room from the few who liked it. "Hope truth or dare". He asked, smirking. "Truth". If you could pick one person to rescue you from a desert island who would it be". He asked, looking at her intensely. "Logan because he is the most likely to be prepared". He said with a duh face. "Logan truth or dare"he said, facing her best friend. "Dare". He smiled. "I dare you to send Mike a picture of you being ridiculous". She laughed all of us knowing fine and well Mike would put it into the photo album. He groaned, getting into a silly pose sending it to mike. "Your evil hope". He said sitting beside her. "I know". She smirked. We played it forages before we eventually got bored and a couple of us fell asleep and were left at the other side to sleep as the rest of us moved to the other side of the room.
The whole house was silent, the younger kids long asleep and half the older ones too as the rest of us began to play. Never have I ever decided it was the best final option that hopefully wouldn't cause too much noise or mess. quiet giggles and constant drinks. It was nice the whole hose at peace for a change everyone happy. "Never have I ever kissed someone of the same sex". Jody announced to the group. Me, Johnny, Jody, Larissa and Maya all drank. I was shocked about Johnny. "Never have I ever liked someone of the same sex". Joel said smiling. Logan hope, Tyler, Jody Ellie and myself all drank. "Never have I ever had a crush on my best friend". Tyler said smiling Emily, Me, hope, Johnny, Logan, Erica, and Mac drank and the whole group laughed. "OK i'm sorry but what's going on in this house". Erica smirked as we talked. "OK, never have I ever had a girlfriend or boyfriend". Mac said as me, Johnny, and Emily drank. "Right, never have I ever had a crush on a teacher". Emily giggled. Erica, Jody, mac. Tyler, Larissa, and Joel drank. "Never have i ever seen my crush or partner naked". johnny said recovering slowly from his laughing fit. Me, Logan, Hope, Jody, and Mia drank. "OK, its office sapphire has had the most interesting life ever". Hope laughed. I blushed. It also became even more obvious that Logan and Hope were going to be more than just friends. We continued for a while before going to sleep. I smiled as I slipped my phone out to take a few photos for mike. Erica and Christina were asleep on one couch, Ty and Max asleep on either side of me, Jody and Ellie passed out facing each other after an intense game of rock paper scissors. Joel and Johnny were asleep, Joel having his head on Johnny's shoulder. Mac Larissa and Maya are sleeping on the other couch, Mia asleep leaning against Mac's legs. The others were dotted about hope and Logan passed out with hope curled up in Logan's arms. I smile before falling asleep between the two boys. The biggest smile on my face I've had in a long time. Knowing my loved ones are watching over me from above, no matter how alone I feel they will always be with me and the mad lot in this place will always be here to pester me until I cheer up. That's a good thing is that if you're sad they know you well enough to be able to help cheer you up. No matter if you want it or not. They are there for you. And you for them. I would take a knife for this lot. And they would foe me too and that's the last thought before I go into a deep empty sleep. No screaming or fighting, just peace.
Mikes pov
I sat in the office looking through the photo albums putting new ones in labeling them. What was happening when I got a message from sapphire. I opened it to see photos from the night I smiled. I printed them off and put them into the book. I know one thing is that no matter what, every child that steps through these doors will have a home here whether they were here for a night or for years. I smile looking at the leaving parties, birthdays Christmas. They're kids smiling. We have some great kids, they are good to each other no matter how much they fight. I looked closely at the one of hope and logic. They certainly do have a blonde but it's changing as they grow up. "I better be invited to the wedding", I whispered to myself with a smile. I never had my own kids, never really interested in love so when i got a job here, it was perfect. The kids are mine, I raise them like my own. I've walked previous kids down the aisle. The pride I feel hearing their accomplishments. If you looked at these books without knowing me or why they exist you would definitely think that i am a creep but every child has their own one that i fill, giving them something to take with them for their memories, i have a box for each one of them me and Carmen always make sure that they have things they want and need. Most of the kids come to us with nothing but the clothes on their backs and bad memories. So we make sure that they leave here with their own belongings that will always be theirs and good memories that will give them hope, and let them remember that they will always have a family here. That they are safe here. All kids get to keep their phones as well which have Carmen's numbers in them in case they ever need us no matter the time. 3pm or 3am we are always there. I tried my best to slow my thoughts as I slipped the book back on the shelf besides the others. I walked slowly around the house locking the doors and making sure the windows were closed, checking on the kids before going for a shower then into bed. Smiling at all the good memories this house has given me and all the kids and young people that have lived here.
I woke up at six heading down and making coffee. I walked to the living room to see all the teens awake and carrying on, hope still curled up at Logan's side. I snapped a quick photo before opening the door. "Good morning ya mad monkeys''. I smiled. ",morning mike" they all replayed. "Right all of you up dressed, and down in the next ten mins for breakfast, and tell the little ones as well". I smiled heading to the kitchen and making a start on breakfast. 20 ,the table is set and all the children sit down as I start to hand out everyone's plates. "It smells great in here". Carmen smiles while grabbing a coffee. "Well thank you"I smirked while sitting down. I watched everyone eat while nibbling at their own breakfast. We may not be blood but we are a pretty great, big, crazy, exciting, mostly happy family. I then got work on packing up the living room. The kids except Logan and Hope played a board game, the other two heading off to Logan's room for him to get ready to see his sisters and meet their dads. I was happy for him. They came and I brought them to Carmen before taking Logan down to see his sisters. The rest of us spent the day playing a massive monopoly. We made it ourselves years ago, using all different figures. It's a great activity for the whole family. At the end of the day I saw the millers off and went back to my flat finally feeling alone, and not in a good way. Every time i leave i am glad to be away from the fighting and screaming nut at the same time i can't be at ease because of the lack of it. Too used to be chasing down crazy kids and breaking up fights and trying to get them all to bed or up and ready for school. It's a nightmare bug. I wouldn't have another job. Working with these kids has been the most fulfilling thing I have done in my life. And the thing that's brought me the most joy.
