we experience many firsts

bike rides, play dates, and sleepovers

we learn to climb the jungle gym,

create art with our fingers,

build cities in sandboxes,

swing until we can taste the sky

and belong to the clouds

as kids we learn how to be carefree

we play hours upon hours with friends

and do it all over again in the morning

with our overalls and light-up sneakers

we learn to chase our impossible dreams

and reach for the farthest star

the word no is just two letters

even scraped knees can't hold us back

so we choose to do what we want

and learn to become invincible
