you can try your hardest to figure it out
you can ask a million questions
and receive a million different answers
you may even access the universal vault of knowledge
but even then, you still wouldn't know
what it's like to have your heart
completely betray your brain
to feel so much that you just might burst
and have it backfire just before it could begin
at first you cry a waterfall of tears
and drown in your sadness
then you explode in anger
a million pieces of you
are scattered all over the floor
your fingers bleed as you pick yourself up
but what once was perfect
is now a hodge-podge of band-aids and patches
then you start to wonder
if you could ever be whole again
