ever since you left hawkins to go to college in california, you had been keeping track of how long it was until spring break. you were going back to hawkins for spring break to visit steve and you couldn't wait. you packed your suitcase before walking out of your room and getting into your fathers car. he drove you to the airport and helped you get your suitcase out of his car. you said goodbye and walked into the airport.

steve waited in the airport, sitting in a chair with his leg bobbing up and down. he fiddled around with his hands as he looked around the airport. his eyes focused on the double doors, waiting for them to open and reveal a large herd of people. they opened a few minutes later, people pushing past to meet their loved ones. steve stood up and tried to look for you. as everyone walked their own ways, he saw you pulling your suitcase behind you. he smiled as he saw you. you looked around before your eyes landed on steve. you began walking faster until you reached steve. you let go of your suitcase and wrapped your arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer and burying his head into the crook of your neck as he hugged you. "i missed you so much." he muttered. "i missed you too." you said. steve hesitantly pulled away from you and picked up your suitcase. "i can take it." you said to him. he shook his head and held your hand with his free hand and walked out of the airport. "no way. it's your holiday. you're not going to lift a finger." he said, kissing your cheek as you walked out.

steve opened the trunk of his car and placed your suitcase inside. you reached over to open the car door but steve ran around and opened it before you. "i told you, you aren't going to lift a finger." he said, holding the door open. you laughed and got in. steve shut the door after you got in before getting into the drivers side and drove away. he drove to his house. he helped you out of the car before getting your suitcase out of the trunk. he walked into the house and you followed in after him. he lifted your suitcase up to his room. he helped you unpack and placed your clothes into a space they he cleared for you in his closet. once you were finished, steve wrapped his arms around you and kissed you. you smiled into the kiss and wrapped your arms around his neck. steve put his hand on the back of your neck and deepened the kiss. he pulled away and kissed your cheek down to your jaw then to your neck. "i missed you so goddamn much." he said between kisses. "steve." you whispered.

the moment was cut short by a rapid knocks at the door. you and steve chose to ignore it has he continued to kiss you but the knocks just got louder and louder. steve groaned and pulled away from you. he made his way downstairs and you followed behind him. he opened the door and dustin stood there with his arms crossed. "how long does it take you to answer the door, steve?" he asked. "i was... busy." steve told him. dustin looked behind. "holy shit, y/n! you're back!" dustin said, pushing past steve and enveloping you in hug. you laughed and hugged him back. "yeah, i'm back." you replied. "are you back forever?" he asked. "no, just for spring break." dustin sighed and stepped away from his before glaring over at steve. "what?" he asked. "you told me you were going to take me to wills." dustin said. "can't you just bike there?" steve asked. "i could but i don't want to." "i'm not your chauffeur, henderson." you laughed. "just take him. i'm going to change." you told steve. dustin smiled before running out into steves car. steve shook his head before turning to him and cupping your face with his hands. he kissed you gently. "i'll be back soon." he said, leaving and shutting the door behind him.

you had changed into some shorts you packed and stole one of steve shirts and sat on the couch in the living room and flicked through the tv. you heard the door open and close. "y/n?" steve yelled out. "i'm in the living room." you yelled back. he walked into the room and sat down a bag of takeout food. "couldn't be bothered cooking." he said before sitting beside you. he wrapped an arm around your shoulder as you picked up the the takeout bag. you both ate the food and caught up. "i'm telling you, college isn't that bad, steve. you should apply." you said. "i doubt that. and college isn't for me." steve replied. "just think about it." you told him. "you know, dustin has started blowing me off for his new nerdy game leader." steve told you, stabbing his fork into the container. "nerdy game?" "yeah, that, uh, dungeons game." "dungeons and dragons?" "yeah, that's it." he said. "and you're jealous of his, what did you say, game leader?" you asked. "i'm not jealous. just don't understand what's so cool about eddie 'the freak' munson." he muttered. you smirked. "holy shit, you are so jealous." you teased. "i'm not. shut up, y/n." he said. you laughed at his response.

after you had finished eating, your head was laying in steve's lap as your legs hung over the side of the couch. he ran his hands through your hair. "so, are you here for the whole spring break?" steve asked you. "yeah." you looked up at him. "i can stay here right? that's not a problem?" you asked. "of course you can stay here." he told you. "i should let you know that my douchebag dad might come home from his supposed business trip though." he added. "i'm sure he'll be fine." you said. "no, he's a grade a asshole. but i'm not letting that ruin my time with my girl." he said, leaning down and placing a kiss onto your forehead. you smiled at the nickname. "i'm so glad you're here. i missed you like crazy." steve said. "yeah, you've told me." you replied. he smiled down at you. "well, i wanted to tell you again." he said. "just didn't want you to forget about this pretty face." he told you. you laughed. "seriously?" "what? so no college guys have hit on you or asked you out?" he asked. "oh, yeah they have but they are not a patch on you, steve harrington." you said. "what about you? no hawkins girls chasing you around?" you asked. "oh, yeah, tons." he said, sounding unsure. "really?" "no." he replied. you laughed again. "well, their loss." you said and he smiled down at you. he leaned down and kissed you before standing up and lifting you into his arms, carrying you bridal style. "what're you doing?" you squealed as he picked you up and instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck. he walked towards his bedroom. "i'm continuing what dustin interrupted earlier." he smirked at you, kicking his bedroom door shut.
