A loud ringing roused Jisung from his sleep the next morning. He groaned and reluctantly left the warm cocoon of his blankets to answer his phone. "Hello?" he slurred, still half-asleep.

"Jisung, where the fuck are you? Do you know what time it is?"

"Oh, Hyunjin," he yawned and ducked his head back into the shelter of his blankets. "I'm at home right now, and I don't know what time it is. Go and check your phone or something. Why are you asking me?"

"Fucking dumbass, you're an hour late for work."

Hearing those words instantly got Jisung back to his senses. "Shit!" he yelped and quickly hung up the call. He sprung out of his bed and grabbed a towel, rushing to the bathroom.

He was ready in less than fifteen minutes and drove off to work, though he was still kind of sleepy, hungry and unmotivated.

He had already called Felix on the way, and explained the whole situation to him. When he arrived, he was already greeted by glares and stares from his colleagues.

He tried not to mind them and proceeded to do his job—the usual seat the customers and attend to their needs kind of thing.

When the lunch rush was over and things started to settle down, Hyunjin beamed and walked towards Jisung, a big smile on his face.

"It's unusual for you to be late for work. Hmm, I wonder what you did last night," he said as he nudged Jisung on the shoulder.

He didn't wait for any explanation and shoved a bouquet of roses in front of Jisung's face. "The Minho guy told me to give this to you. I didn't think that the two of you would hit it off that quickly," he whistled.

A full blush adorned Jisung's cheeks as he took the flowers. "To be honest, I also don't know how it happened. Things are going a bit too smoothly, and it makes me feel kind of scared."

Growing up, kids made fun of him for various reasons whether it'd been his weight, his facial features, his hobbies, his unexplainable love for cheesecake or his style of clothing.

As a result, he was always on guard and uneasy when things went smoothly, especially in a potential romantic relationship.

It wouldn't be the first time he'd made that mistake, and for his own sake, he'd like to keep it from happening again if possible.

"... earth to Jisung. I repeat, earth to Jisung. Hello? Are you still there?" Hyunjin waved a hand in front of him, and almost immediately, the latter was fished out of his thoughts.

"Oh yes, I just zoned out for a moment," he explained. "Let's get back to work. The number of customers are slowly increasing again."

"The fucking tiresome day is finally over," Jisung let out a sigh of relief and headed to his car. He had just plopped down on the driver's seat when a ding reached his ears.

He opened his phone and a text message from Minho which read, 'Hey, I'm walking out of my workplace right now. Wanna go have dinner together?" was on his lock screen.

His fingers hovered over the screen as he typed and erased various responses. To Jisung, a simple 'okay' or 'sure' seemed a bit dull.

He wanted to write a response that would show his enthusiasm, so he settled for 'yesssss, I'm downnn!!!'Gotta make sure to add a lot of those exclamation marks so that it would show more excitement lmao.

Somewhere further, Minho stared at the new message on his phone for a while before making sure no one was around to see his bright smile.

He read over the text again. Jisung always sounded so happy and lively, even through a text message. A few moments later, his phone lit up with another notification from Jisung. 'Thanks for the roses, by the way.'

'Do you like them? I really made sure to choose thornless ones, because they apparently symbolize love at first sight haha~'

Jisung read his last message and shut his phone with a squeal. It had been such a long time since he felt his heart pound this fast, his stomach being filled with butterflies—the feeling of being in love.
