As Jisung arrived home, a wave of hunger washed over him, prompting him to seek solace in instant ramen. He quickly set the water to boil and waited patiently for his simple yet satisfying meal to be ready.
Minutes later, with the aroma filling the air, he sat at the table, eagerly enjoying the warmth and comfort of his quick dinner.
Just as he took his first slurp, his phone buzzed, signaling a new message. He glanced at the screen and saw it was from Minho.
"Hey, Jisung. How's your evening going? I hope it's better than the past few days. Let me know if you want to talk."
Jisung contemplated his response. He wasn't sure what to do.
But... maybe Hyunjin was right. He needed to be honest with Minho.
After minutes of pondering what to say, he finally made up his mind. With a deep breath, he began typing his response to Minho.
"Hey, Minho. Are you free later for a FaceTime call? I've got something on my mind, and I'd like to talk to you about it. Well... that is if you're not busy, of course."
Minho responded almost immediately: "Sure! I'm free."
Jisung replied: "Great, how about we make it around 9 PM? Does that work for you? I can adjust the time whenever."
"No need, 9 PM is perfect. Looking forward to our call!"
With a deep exhale, Jisung put his phone down and went back to his ramen, fully immersing himself in slurping and savoring it.
The minutes ticked by, and Jisung remained immersed in his meal, occasionally checking the time to ensure he wouldn't miss the upcoming call with Minho.

Later that night, as the clock approached the agreed-upon time, Jisung set up his phone for the FaceTime call.
The gentle glow of the screen illuminated his face, reflecting a mix of anticipation and nervousness.
With a deep breath, he dialed Minho's number and waited anxiously for the connection to be established.
The familiar sound of the ringing echoed in the quiet room until Minho's face finally appeared on the screen.
He tried to maintain a composed expression, but the swirl of emotions beneath the surface was undeniable.
"Hey, Jisung!" Minho's warm smile radiated through the screen.
Jisung forced a smile in return, "Hey, how are you?"
Minho furrowed his brow slightly, concern evident in his eyes. "I should be asking you that. You said you wanted to talk about something."
Jisung hesitated for a moment, his mind wrestling with the words he needed to say. "Yeah, um... it's just been a bit... confusing lately."
"Confusing? Is there something specific on your mind?"
Jisung nervously fidgeted with the edge of his phone.
"Well, it's about us... I mean, you and me. I thought we were... I don't know, on the same page, you know? But then, days ago, you said we aren't officially dating, and it left me kind of lost."
Minho's expression softened as he listened.
"Oh, Jisung, I didn't mean to make you feel bad about that. The reason why I mentioned we weren't officially dating is because I didn't want to assume anything with you. I didn't want Hyunjin or anyone else to pressure you or make things awkward—"
"I thought it would be better to let things naturally progress between us. I also wanted to make sure we're both comfortable with the pace of our relationship. I didn't want you to think I'm rushing things or that I'm not considering your feelings—"
"I'm sorry if my words came across differently. Your feelings matter a lot to me, and I'm here to talk about anything you need clarification on."
As Minho spoke, Jisung's mind became a whirlwind of thoughts.
Wait, did I misunderstand the whole situation?
Have I been overthinking things?
Jisung took a moment before responding to Minho.
"I... I guess I misunderstood, and I'm sorry if I jumped to conclusions. I didn't realize you might have different reasons for not explicitly stating that we're dating. I just... I thought..."
He hesitated before continuing, "Honestly, at one point, I thought you were just playing with me or not taking things seriously. I misunderstood your intentions, and I'm sorry for that."
Minho's eyes widened and he quickly sat up from his bed.
"Play with you?! Jisung, I would never do that! I care about you, and the last thing I want is for you to feel like I'm toying with your feelings. I might not be the best at expressing myself, but I'm serious about us."
Jisung's shoulders relaxed as he let out a sigh of relief. "I guess I let my insecurities get the best of me. I'm so sorry for doubting you..."
Minho nodded understandingly. "No need to apologize, Jisung. I should've been clearer from the beginning."
The tension began to ease, and Jisung took a deep breath.
"So, um... where do we go from here? What should we do?"
Minho's gaze softened as he spoke, "Well.. considering everything, would you like to make it official between us? I want us to be on the same page and not leave any room for confusion."
Jisung, feeling a mixture of relief and joy, hesitated for a moment before responding. "I'd like that. I want us to be clear about where we stand."
Minho chuckled, a warm sincerity gleaming in his eyes. "Good, because I really care about you, and I don't want there to be any ambiguity. So, what do you say we make it official?"
Jisung nodded, "I'm all for it. Let's make it official."
