“Um Sweetie, Lexi, my best friend, my sister! I do not think that is a good idea.” Liz said as she pulled out a blueberry lollipop and put it in her mouth;

I never understood her love for lollipops.

Jayce nods his head,

 “I think it is unwise that we sleep in the same bed, considering how I am now your teacher and you are my student.”Jayce said looked at me,

then Liz and cleared his throat.

 “Ok well I’ll sleep on the couch then! I mean Lexi needs a bed, and it is your house after all, I’ll just sleep on the couch ok?” Liz said

 Jayce and I looked at Liz and she just nodded.

 The nurse came in and told us we could leave,

I sat in the wheelchair and let Liz push me to Liz’s Mercedes Benz,

 I look at Jayce

“How bad is your car?”

 He just frowns and looks at his shoes,

“It was taken away after the crash.”

I frown and get helped put in the passenger seat of her car,

 Jayce sits in the back, and Liz sits in the driver’s seat.

 We buckle up and Liz drives to the address Jayce gives her.

When we pull up they come to my side and I laugh

 “Come on guys I only broke my hand I’m fine.”

Jayce smiles and looks down,

Liz just playfully pushes me then grabs me before I fall to the ground,

 she laughs and stops when Jayce glares at her.

 When we reach Jayce’s room, Liz walks to the kitchen and opens the black fridge door and pulls out a Pepsi and looks at Jayce and I,

“What? Would you rather I drank beer? There’s plenty in there!” she said with a laugh.

I yawn and Jayce along with Liz look at me

 “You should get some sleep Lex.” Jayce said with a smile,

I nod and walk into the guest room.

 I pull the ocean blue bed spread over my head.

As I was drifting I hear Liz say

 “You don’t want to get in trouble with the school or hurt Lexi do you?”

I hear Jayce sigh and say “No.” Before I fall asleep.

I wake up in the morning to the smell of eggs, toast, and Bacon?

I sigh and get up, and walk sluggishly towards the kitchen.

 I see Liz, in her blue shirt and shorts smile at me,

then attempt to flip eggs and it surprisingly lands on the pan.

She smiles at me triumphantly,

“So sleeping beauty, how doesith thow feel? “

 I laugh and grab a piece of the toast and chew on it

“I feelith fine?”

 Liz laughs at me and sips on the Pepsi, drinking the rest of it.

 Jayce comes out in an All Time Low t-shirts and Q-ball print boxers.

 I blush and eat some eggs;

Jayce puts on some coffee and grabs a piece of bacon, and smiles at me.

 I blush even more and Liz clears her throat.

I glare at her and she smirks,

 Cock block!

“So Lexi I have all of your make-up work at my house, so when you want to drop by I’ll help you with it.” She says as she finishes off her food,

 “Well I have to go but since I’m lexis ride why dont I just take you home?”

 I look at Jayce and he nods but stands up

“Why dont I drive you guys home? I mean I still need to talk to Lex.”

 I looked at Liz hopeful and she nods

 “Ok but you need to drive us to school tomorrow!”

Jayce nods,

we get changed,

 then we get in the car.

I look at Jayce and smile,

 he grabs my hand and I look out the window.

I hear Liz make a fake gagging noise and I laugh,

 Jayce tenses and I frown but smile at him.

I look at the houses passing by,

 my eyes widen when I see Liz’s house.

 Her house was bombarded with neighbors outside, an ambulance and fire truck near her moms’ truck.

 Liz opens the door and runs towards her house before we stop.

 Jayce slams on the breaks and follows Liz;

I unbuckle my seatbelt and follow after them.

 Liz runs through the crowd of people and goes to the EMT.

 I make my way up and see Liz collapse onto the ground, tears cascading down her face like a miniature waterfall.

I bend down next to her and ask her what’s wrong,

 she shakes her head and puts hugs me,

 I just rub her back telling her whatever it is it can’t be that bad.

She shakes her head and says “She’s gone Lexi.”

Those three words broke my heart.

 I shake my head,

 “No she isn’t she’s fine, why do you say she’s gone?”

Liz looks at me as more tears fall and points the EMT

 “They said it was too late, she had no chance, she had a heart attack. I should have been here! I mean maybe she might-“ 

  she stopped talking and I hugged her harder letting her cry in silence.

 Jayce got the neighbors to leave the yard and spoke to the fire department;

 he came back over to us and gave me a sad smile,

“Liz if you want you can stay at my place.” I said getting up,

she shook her head and brushed her hands on her pants and wiped her eyes,

 “I think I’ll stay here, I’m used to the silence.”

My heart ached but I nodded

 “I’ll see you tomorrow love?” she just nodded and walked into the house, closing the door softly behind her.
