I am sorry for those of you who read this. I haven't posted in a few weeks, I just lost two people who I was very close to. My best friend and someone I look up to! So as you can tell having to write a chapter about what someone does after loosing someone is kind of hard to write about when it has just happened to you. SO sorry for the delay and enjoy. We drive to school in complete silence.
I would see Jayce looking at me in the rearview mirror, smile then look down.
I caught a glimpse of Liz once and saw she was looking out the window and moving slightly to what sounds like “When it rains” by Paramore.
When we pull up Liz gets out without a word and walks slowly into school.
I look at Jayce and sigh, “Lets go we don’t want to be late do we?” He asks and I shake my head.
We get out of the car and start to walk to school.
“Mr. Davis, Ms.Turner why exactly did you two come to school together?”
Great! Awesome way to begin an awesome day!
Right as I was about to cave “They’re cousins Ms. Robicheaux, Mr. Davis is back from Virginia right? Or was it Miami?”
Me and Jayce look at Liz as she came out of nowhere; Liz just nods and looks at Ms. Robicheaux waiting for an answer.
She just closes her mouth and walks away.
I look at Liz to say thanks, but she was gone, damn that girl was fast.
Jayce just looks at me and sighs “My room A lunch!” he says in a harsh tone before walking to class.
I sigh and walk off to AP seminar.
I look around and see Liz is nowhere to be found.
I sigh and sit down, allowing Ms. Cullen to take attendance.
I look threw my bag and realize I forgot to grab my phone.
I sigh and get out my IPod; I didn’t hear what song it was, because before I knew it I was out like a light.
I am awakened by shaking; whoever is shaking me is going to get punched! I thought,
I open my eyes and see Ms. Cullen giving me a weak smile. “You fell asleep I didn’t want to wake you, so I told your teachers you were helping me with unpacking my textbooks.”
I wipe my mouth and smile at her,
“Thank you, Ms. Cullen are you sure you’re a teacher? You are WAY too nice!”
She laughs and gets off the desk, her blonde hair swaying along with her blue dress.
I had to admit she looked more like a model than a teacher.
She motions to the door, “You might want to go, the bell is going to ring and dont you have lunch detention with Mr. Davis?”
I open my mouth to speak but nothing came out.
I was left speechless, did she know? Was she going to tell if she did know? What the hell is wrong with me she can’t know!
“Don’t worry I won’t tell. I know how do I know? Well Lexi I was once in love you know? And the way Jay- I mean Mr. Davis was looking at you. That is not how a cousin looks at another cousin that is how a boyfriend looks at a girlfriend. Ms. Robicheaux and everyone else can’t tell because they aren’t looking into things like I do. You see they think it is just a coincidence you both come to school together or how he gives you detention for reasons that make absolutely no sense! They only see what they want to see. Go and talk to Mr. Davis and Don’t worry I wont tell anyone, however you guys want to be more careful about how you two act towards each other in school!”
She goes behind her desk and put glasses on, they make her grey eyes look smaller. I nod and head towards the door,
“Thanks” I whisper and head towards Jayce’s room.
Right as I reach the door the bell rings, students leave the room and Jayce looks right at me.
He doesn’t smile, instead he quickly looks away.
I sigh and walk into the room; I sit in the far back and pull out a notebook.
Hey if he didn’t want to talk I was fine with doing homework.
As soon as I was about to start a packet of M&M’s land on the desk,
I look at him and he sighs
“They didn’t have skittles.”
I just nod and slowly open the bag and pour some in my hand.
He sits in front of me and sighs
“We need to talk.” I say which earns me a surprised look,
“Yes, but what do you want to talk about?” He says then takes a sip of Pepsi.
“Well, Ms. Cullen talked to me and said she knows about us. Now don’t give me that look I didn’t tell her she said she can tell by the way we act around each other. So I think we should space away from each other for a bit I mean people think we are cousins so we don’t have to completely avoid each other but I think it would be good for us to stay away Liz needs me right now I don’t know what she would do without me. She is a mess and to be honest I think I am the only thing that is holding her together. “
I said looking at Jayce who was looking at the person who had come in while I was on this little rant of mine,
judging by how pale his face was, that’s when I saw it was Liz ,
shit was about to go down.
“You selfish bitch! How dare you say I am unstable! I just lost my mother, the only family member I had left and you say you are the only thing holding me together? I’m sorry I don’t have a nice ass life like yours but you have NO right to say I would be worse without you! You want to test that out? You just made me absolutely sick to my stomach, have a fanfuckingtastic day! O by the way Jayce I need my car keys I am leaving school early I can’t handle all the questions and people crying and saying how sorry they are, but hey at least they aren’t saying that I am a mess without them. I’ll see you later.”
With that she grabbed the keys and left me there,
as white as snow and more shocked than a whore with a positive pregnancy test.
I look at Jayce who just shakes his head and leaves the room, leaving me more alone than a flower in the desert.
