Hyunjin's POV
I couldn't sleep that night. The same conversation just kept repeating in my head.
Flashback
"I don't make it that obvious do i?" Jeongin asked, his eyes wide and his voice laced with panic.
I gave him a small smile as my heart dropped. I couldn't let him know about my feelings. Watching me fake-date her was probably hard on him enough.
"Anyone in this dorm can tell, but I don't think Y/N has caught on." I said. patting his shoulder as an attempt to relax the poor boy.
I began to walk off to my room, giving Jeongin one last smile in which he returned before shutting my door.
End of Flashback
I wanted to scream into my pillow but Jisung being my roommate didn't give me that privilege. I simply stared at my wall, questioning what I'd do. I couldn't get out of this even if I wanted to. I had a deal.
~
"Hyunjin, Hyunjin, HYUNJIN!"
the yells of my name woke me up from my trance as I stared up to see Jisung looking down at me.
"Yikes, those eyebags aren't looking too good buddy, did you not sleep at all?"
I glared at Jisung before abruptly rising from my bed, causing him to back up.
He's always in my face first thing in the morning.
"For your information, no. I didn't." I said, grouchy.
"Well we have a concert tonight so try to get rid of those eyebags, the stylists won't be happy with you" Jisung warned. I nodded, walking over to the bathroom.
~
"When did you realize you liked her?" I asked Jeongin the question I dreaded most. It had to be answered, for my own good.
"I don't really know. She was my senior in high school so I saw her around a lot. But I think it started around her group's debut." He said, thinking back.
Flashback
Jeongin's POV
"Jeongin! Have you seen the new girl crush group?" My classmate asked.
I denied, not paying much attention to other groups at the time, I was too focused on my own group about to debut.
"They go to our school! They're our seniors."
I glanced at the screen and Y/N was the first who caught my eye. It was hard to look away from her. As I admired her, the bell rang indicating that school day was over for the day. My classmate pulled his phone away as he began packing up, I did the same. We talked about the group as we walked out of class together.
As we walked through the halls together, We passed someone.
It was her.
She walked right past me, past everyone. She didn't spare a single glance to anyone, not even the people who gasped as she walked. She didn't show any sort of expression. Her aura simply took over the halls. No one needed to say anything, they all knew who she was. She walked as if she didn't become a celebrity overnight.
I was hooked just by that moment. I thought it was a simple little crush because I thought she was pretty, I didn't know her at all and therefore couldn't act on my feelings even if I wanted to.
Even after I debuted and graduated, she was always everywhere. On TV, at award shows, she was always right in front of me. She was always quiet too. Never talked to other idols, she simply watched performances with a straight face and clapped when it was over. She'd smile when idols past her but her face would immediately rest after. I never had a chance to talk to her. Her group was always on time when a show started and the first to leave when it ended.
End of Flashback
Hyunjin's POV
"I guess I never had a chance to talk to her, But my crush on her never faded. Now that she's around more because of you, I feel like this is my opportunity. But, you wouldn't get mad at me if I made a move on her right?" Jeongin ended his story with the question, It rung in my ears.
Would I be mad?
Fuck yeah, I liked her first, his story simply proves it.
But I can't be so possessive. She isn't mine.
In the end, she'll choose who she wants.
"No, I wouldn't. Our relationship is fake, it's only for the cameras anyway." I said, plastering a fake smile on my face.
Jeongin smiled and thanked me as he got up and left with his stylist. My smile dropped into a frown as I laid back on the couch in frustration. We were getting ready for our concert and I was the first one ready.
"Hyunjin, someone sent an americano for you." My manager said. I looked at him confused.
He never lets us have food or drinks from fans?
Are they finally trying to get rid of me?
I took the cup from him as he gave me a smirk. I looked at the cup, nothing looked suspicious about it. I took a sip and it tasted fine too.
"You should really drink that, you got no sleep last night." My manager said, leaving the room.
I cautiously drank the drink before the concert.
~
We performed the songs from our album, 'Go Live'. It was the chorus of 'Easy', I walked over to a place on stage and began to dance, the fans cheering and waving at me as I did so. I smiled at the crowd until my eyes landed on someone.
Like always.
She was here.
She was in the crowd with the rest of her bandmates. They all cheered for me but my eyes only focused on her. She smiled at me as she sang along to our song. It was like time slowed down and all I could see was her in the blurs of the crowd. Her eyes sparkled as the lights reflected on her. I ended off the chorus with a smile as we looked directly at each other. There was only one thought in my mind as I walked away.
She's here.
She's watching me perform
Here.
