Hyunjin's POV

Honestly, I had no idea why I was ignoring Y/N like this, especially when I knew being around her made me happier than ever.

Fuck my pride.

I had been switching channels like crazy, My brain refused to slow down and enjoy something so all I could do now was frustratedly push buttons on the remote and complain about nothing good being on. I finally pulled my strained eyes off the TV and glanced up to see Changbin and Minho putting their shoes on, I immediately perked up.

"Where are you guys going? Can I come? Is it a coffee place? Are you going to a party? Can I come? Will there be drinks? Will people I know be there?-"

"Woah, slow down Hyunjin," Changbin breathed out with a laugh. "It's some party I was invited to, Jun's"

I titled my head. "I didn't know you knew Seventeen members,"

"Changbin knows everyone." Minho rolled his eyes with a grin.

"Can I come?" I asked again.

The two looked at each other uncomfortably before looking at me again, Minho then signaled Changbin something who nodded and began to speak. "Hyunjin.. I don't know if-"

"Y/N's there."

My heart stopped for a moment as I froze.

"YAH! I was gonna tell him softly!"

"It can't be that serious, just rip it off like a bandaid."

Their bickering voices faded into the background as I thought about Y/N.

What was she doing at a party?

Was she talking to guys?

What was she wearing?

Is she getting drunk?

Will she need a ride?

Is she safe there?

Changbin shoved Minho and focused on me. "Do you really want to come-"

"Give me 5 minutes."

In 20 minutes, we were at the house party. It was blasting inside which didn't surprise me, Seventeen were well known in the industry. Upon walking in, I immediately began looking for Y/N. I didn't plan on leaving Minho and Changbin's side but the idea of her talking to a guy somewhere or drunk dancing in the middle of the room sent my mind in a spiral.

It surprisingly didn't take me long to find her, it's like I had a Y/N radar. She stood against the wall, laughing with Jay.

My blood boiled. That was my replacement?

I knew he would obviously play the hero card and try to take his chance with Y/N but watching it happen made me angry. It took all my strength not to break them apart and drag her away with me. Y/N made her decision. She wanted Jay. My anger was replaced with disappointment as I turned back to Changbin and Minho.

She chose him..

~

A boring 10 minutes passed and I kept stealing glances at Y/N. What did she even see in that kid? and why was his grubby fingers caressing her wrist?

I watched as she walked away from him, coming in my direction. She looked up and we immediately locked eyes. I didn't mean to glare at her but my emotions took over. We held eye contact for a minute longer before she stormed out of the house. I let my shoulders loosen up as I tried to join in the conversation between Changbin and Yeonjun. I couldn't help but glance at Jay every now and then, he would look back sometimes and give me a smirk that made it clear he knew he won.

I'm gonna punch him.

I left my spot next to Changbin to go to the kitchen,

I need a beer and normal lighting.

As I stood in front of the fridge, I felt a presence creep up behind me.

"I'm sorry about you and Y/N, bro."

My eyes squeezed shut and jaw clenched as I turned to talk to the idiot.

"What are you talking about? We're fine. Just.. busy."

Jay's tongue poked his cheek as he held back a grin. "Really? Y/N told me she's planning on talking to her manager to see if they can put out a formal announcement of your breakup."

My heart dropped to my stomach, my knuckles pale from the tight fist I held. I didn't believe this guy for a second, I didn't want to. But Y/N came here with him tonight, and there had been headlines of her being seen with him more often since the night I left her place. The proof was right in my face, smirking at me.

Y/N chose Jay.

I shoved my beer into his chest. "What goes down between us doesn't concern you, school friend."

I could hear his chuckling behind me as I walked away. "I wouldn't call myself that anymore!"

~

I didn't leave Minho after that, I would've if I could. The problem was with the way I came back after my confrontation with Jay in the kitchen, Minho didn't trust me alone with him. We talked for a while and Minho even got me laughing a bit. In the midst of neon lights, Jay rushed out the door and without hesitation I followed behind.

For Y/N's safety of course.

There was a swarm of paparazzi trying to push through the gates. I could see Jay walking toward Y/N determinedly and my feet moved before my mind did. I pass him with a shove and smile before wrapping my arm around Y/N and waving at the paparazzi, steering Y/N away.

Y/N's POV

"Let's get you home hm?"

Those were the last words he whispered in my ear as he walked me behind the house and into the alley where He parked the car, sending a quick text to someone I couldn't see.

The drive was quiet. I didn't want to even look at him, I tried to distract myself with all the thoughts of what Jun was probably doing now that his house address was leaked, or what Jay was thinking since I left him behind. I felt bad for him, but not as bad as I did being seated in the familiar passenger seat of Hyunjin's car.

I breathed in and regained my composure. "Hyunjin, I-"

"It's fine."

And like that, I deflated back into my seat.

"You already made your decision, I don't care."

I looked over at him with eyes of curiosity.

"You chose Jay, good for you Y/N."

What does he mean?

"I'll talk to my manager and get this whole dating scandal cleared. We'll say we broke up and then go on our separate lives."

Before I could even protest or at least try and understand what he was talking about, the car stopped in front of my company building.

"Wait-"

"Are you leaving or not?"
