"Where are we going, Shimmer?" River asked nervously.
"Oh, don't worry it's not much further." Suffer said.
They trotted through Ponyville, all the way to the Everfree Forest. "We're almost there." Suffer said as she glanced back just to make sure that River was still following.
"Shimmer, I suddenly don't feel very safe." River said as she started to tremble.
"Relax, you're fine." Suffer said as she continued to lead River through the forest.
"Ok. I trust you." River said.
"Good, good." Suffer said.
They continued to make their way through the forest until Suffer saw the Cave of the Mean Ones. "We're here." Suffer announced.
"Um, Shimmer? It's just a cave." River said in confusion.
"Well don't just stand there, come in." Suffer said as she trotted into the cave.
"No, no." River replied. "I don't like this."
"Look I'm right here, nothing bad is gonna happen." Suffer said.
"Ok." River said as she followed Suffer inside.
"Shimmer, I've brought you some company." Suffer announced.
"Wait a minute, aren't you Shimmer?" River asked nervously.
"Nope." Suffer replied as she revealed herself.
"What? Who are you?" River asked in disbelief.
"My name is Suffer Song and I'm the original mean one." Suffer said.
"You were Suffer since this morning?" River asked.
"Correct. I played you for a fool." Suffer said.
"Wait, if you're Suffer?" River asked nervously. "Then, Where's the real Shimmer?"
"Dark Quartet, bring forth the prisoner." Suffer said.
Mean Pinkie, Meanty and Mean Sprinkle all came out while carrying a pony-sized cage. "Ah, there she is." Suffer said.
Shimmer coughed before she asked, "River, is that you?"
"Yes. Are you ok?" River replied by asking.
"No time to explain. You need to get out of here." Shimmer said in between coughs.
"Ok." River said as she turned around and started to gallop towards the exit.
"Oh, I don't think so. Torture grab her." Suffer said.
"Right away, sis." Torture said as she flew over and grabbed River.
"Thank you." Suffer said with a sinister smile.
"Let her go." Shimmer demanded.
Suffer thought for a bit before she asked, "How about I offer you a deal?"
"Hmm, what is it?" Shimmer replied by asking.
"The deal is this we will let you and River go in exchange for a syringe of River's blood." Suffer replied.
"You will let us go if I agree, right?" Shimmer asked curiously.
"It's as simple as it sounds." Suffer replied.
"Alright if that's the case, deal." Shimmer said.
"Very well." Suffer said. "Mean Pinkie?"
"Yes, Suffer." Mean Pinkie replied.
"Fetch me an empty syringe." Suffer said.
"It shall be done." Mean Pinkie said as she went to carry out her task.
A few minutes later, "Here ya go." Mean Pinkie said as she tossed the syringe over to Suffer.
"Mean Pinkie, don't ever throw them again." Suffer said as she caught it with her magic.
"Oops. Sorry, Suffer." Mean Pinkie said.
Suffer rolled her eyes at Mean Pinkie before she said, "Alright, time to get my half of our deal." Suffer then proceeded to stab the syringe into River's right foreleg and take some of her blood.
"Ow." River said as soon as Suffer took the syringe back out.
"Meanty, Mean Sprinkle release Shimmer." Suffer said.
"With pleasure." Meanty said as Mean Sprinkle opened the cage and levitated Shimmer over to River.
"Now both of you, get out." Suffer said.
River picked Shimmer up with her forelegs and flew out of the cave, towards Ponyville.
