I've always seen him by himself. Sitting on the same bench everyday as his only visible eye watched us with such intensity that made me feel nervous whenever I played with the guys.
"Hey Taiga. That guy's been checking you out since day one. Do you know him?" One of the guys asked one day while we were getting ready to play.
I looked at his direction and sure thing he was looking at us. His hair was tied in a ponytail while a fringe covered his left eye. He smiled softly when he noticed me looking and mouthed 'good luck' which in turn made me raise an eyebrow at the boy.
"Do I even know him?" I wondered to myself as I averted my gaze away from him.
"Hoho~ Looks like you got yourself a fan~" the guys teased as they smacked my back, hard.
"S-shut up!" I growled in embarrassment as I felt cheeks burn and stormed off to the court while they only laughed at me from behind.
-----
"Alright! We won!Nice game. Taiga!" The guys yelled as we finished the game with a score of 36-10.
I sighed. It wasn't a hard game really. In fact it was so easy that it was hardly a challenge for me at all. You might say that it was even a bit... boring.
As if sensing this, he made his way to us. But is wasn't until they told me that I had noticed him standing behind me.
He looked... Odd really. Especially because of his weird choice of attire. Today, he wore a lose shirt, about a two sizes bigger than him, which made it look like the shirt ate the kid. A pair of different colored shoes, one green and one red, that really makes me raise an eyebrow at him again.
Seriously, the kid's as weird as they come.
"Hasn't anyone told you that it's rude to stare at someone?" He stated more than asked as she stood before me smiling while his eyes said otherwise. He was pissed and it barely showed if you didn't look straight into that storm gray orb of his.
"You should take your own advice. You've been staring at us for days now, kid." I managed to say as I looked down at him. He was only right about my chest but I have to say the kid's got guts.
"I was watching you guys play." He said nonchalantly as he waved his hands as if he was fanning out something. Man, did he looked gay doing that. "You guys played well." he added as he looked at the score.
"Thanks, I guess." I muttered feeling embarrassed about being praised by him all of a sudden.
"Are you up for one more game?" He asked, his back facing me. He looked so small. Although there was something about him, his scent, that seemed odd.
"You sure about that kid?" I asked him, watching him intently. There was something about him that made me feel like I shouldn't take him lightly. Like he was like a time bomb ticking just waiting to go off.
"I think I can handle myself." He said as turned his head towards me, a shadow of a smirk plastered on his pale face. "So are you up for it?"
"Alright. We'll do a 2 on 2. Choose anyone you want." I told him, still looking at him intently.
He only shook his head in response to my statement before turning his full attention back to me. And what came out from his lips caught us all by surprise.
"1 on 1. First one to score 5 points wins." He simply said before making his way towards the court.
"Woah. The kid's got guts." One of the guys said as he followed him with his eyes.
"I don't like him. There's something about him that seems off." Tatsuya said as he slightly glared at the kid.
"Yeah. Well he's probably all talk." I muttered as I followed the shrimp.
Only to find out how tremendously wrong I was.
The sound of the whistle echoed in my ear as I could do nothing but stand there and stare at the score board.
1-5
How did this happen?
"Didn't see that coming." He said in between breaths as I just stood there. Speechless and dumbstruck.
Really, how did this happen?
I couldn't even touch the damn brat. It was like he was suddenly disappearing at one point and reappearing somewhere near the damn net and making his shot.
I was so caught up in my thoughts when another short guy came who had the same eyes as the kid did. The man made his way to him, not even throwing a glance at me or the other guys. Nor did I even want him to pay attention to any of us with that murderous look in his eyes. Was he the kid's twin brother?
(A/N: note that the Italized parts would be what they said in Japanese. And yes, the parts from before are spoken in English)
"So you were here you little piece of shit!" The man said with a growl in Japanese as he grabbed the kid by his shirt.
"Well..." The kid simply replied with an awkward smile plastered on his face.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to wear this type of shitty clothes when you go out?!" the man asked as he brought the kid's face closer to his.
"About 15?" The kid answered in the form of a question.
"And you still keep doing the same shit everyday?!" The man asked him, clearly he wanted to beat the crap out of the kid but didn't.
"If I don't dress like this then they'd never let me play." The kid said with a pout.
"You're a girl dress like one you little piece of shit!" The man said as his eyes thinned into slits.
Wait did he just say that the kid's a girl?!
