Akashi's Father's PoV:

"She's back." I thought with dread as soon as I saw her smiling image in the television screen.

Breaking News! France's singing sensation, Yukimura Rui, has just arrived in Japan early this afternoon. News has it that the newly rising star went to America to get an eye surgery for his left eye and went to Paris, France not too soon after the surgeon had given him the go signal to travel. And there, he was discovered by a wandering producer from Japan!

The young singer/songwriter/ model said that he was originally from Japan and is finally happy to be able to come home to his native country. When asked why about this is what he had to say:

"I love my country! There are a lot of interesting people here." Yukimura-kin said with a gentle smile on his face. "Also, there are a lot of people here that are very important to me. Namely, my friends and my mom. I missed her a lot." He added with a laugh. Leaving his fangirls squealing at the sidelines when they heard his words.

This is Yukari Takeba, live at xxx airport reporting for xxxx news.

I couldn't believe it. I've seen it with my own eyes but I couldn't believe it. I knew those eyes very well. Those unsettle storm gray eyes!

Quickly, I grabbed my phone from my pocket and dialed her number. Whether it was really her or not, she would definitely know. After all, she is her mother.

The phone rang. Once... Twice... Thrice...

"Come on. Pick up." I muttered angrily as I started pacing around my study.

It couldn't be her could it? It was just a coincidence that they had the same pair of eyes, right? And wasn't her left eye damaged? Even if the operation was successful, it couldn't be possible for her to be able to find the same eye color right?

Finally, after the nth ring, she answered her phone. I could here the clanking and banging of things in the background as well as the sound of something buzzing and tapping on they keyboard.

"Hello. Hanji Zoe speaking. Can I help you?" she said and asked in one breath.

"It's me." I told her and, for a moment,I all I could hear only silence on the other line. "Hello?

"ah. Akashi-kun! What a surprise! Can I do anything for you?" she asked in an annoyingly cheerful tone.

"I'll get straight to the point." I told her. "Are you aware that your daughter is already back in Japan?" I asked, listening intently for any sound that would give her away if she was going to lie.

"Hmm?~ No, why? Is she?" She asked in a confused tone.

Wasn't she watching the news?

I sighed. What was I expecting from an obsessed scientist?

"I'm not sure. But someone who's the spitting image of her was just on the news." I told her while massaging my temples.

Maybe I was just being paranoid? I mean, there are other people who have the same kind of eyes like theirs, right?

"Oh?" She didn't seem to be surprised. Not even a little. In fact, she sounded bored. "What's their name?" She asked as she resumed typing on her computer.

"Yukimura Rui. I think." I told her. Why was I even bothering with this? Why was I so strung about a mere child because of her eyes. His eyes.

Surprisingly, she laughed at the sound of the name making me wonder why.

"What's so funny?" I asked her in a cold tone. Maybe she does know something about this Yukimura kid. Maybe he was really a she.

"Oh, nothing Akashi-kun.~ I just found something funny over the Internet. It's nothing you should bother yourself with. And regarding Yukimura, I don't think she's going to go that far just to get back home." she said with a hint of humor in her voice.

"I see. Thank you." I sighed in response before hanging up.

I can't believe this. To be so high-strung over a teenage girl, what was happening to me?

Was it because she has his eyes? Was it because she was his daughter?

The answer to those questions was: yes.

The fact that she was Levi Rivalle's daughter was the part I found very disturbing. In fact, knowing that he was married to someone was very surprising. I didn't think he'd be the marrying kind of man back when we were both in high school.

He was smart and 'cool'. And despite the cold look in his eyes and his stoic face, a lot of people wanted to be around him. Despite his foul mouth, people listened to whatever it was he had to say and does whatever it was that he required them to do. He was someone people admired for both his leadership skills and his talent in sports.

He was also an excellent fencer. The best one in our class in fact which often sent the girls in a squealing frenzy whenever he called on to either demonstrate or to be announced as a competitor in an upcoming competition.

Furthermore, he was also the only one who could match up to me in everything. Just like how she was the only one who can match up to my son.

And the fact that that very son of mine was so fixated on her wasn't helping at all.

She was a threat. A threat that I had to dispose of when the opportunity came.

She was dangerous. As a competitor and as the person ,whom I've discovered, that my son had fallen in love with while her own feelings for him remains unknown or non-existent.

I may not be the best father there is for the pressure and high expectations that I've placed upon my son but the least I could do to make up for those was to prevent him from getting another broken heart.

Once was enough. Losing his mother was enough. I don't want him to get that badly hurt again. And I will do anything by any means necessary just to prevent him from experiencing the same loss or losing her to someone else, which was worst.
