Danica hugged Melissa goodbye, her visit had been far stretched. In as much as she wanted to stay here for her daughter, Heather was a grown woman; she would understand if her mother left her on her own once in a while to her problems.

"Where's my problem child?"

Melissa pointed to the top of the stairs where Heather sat with her face pressed against the guard rail. Puffing out a frustrated sigh Danica climbed the stairs till she was standing in front of her brooding daughter.

"Aren't you going to hug me goodbye."

"Wasn't like I told you to come."

Danica rolled her eyes already used to her daughter's tantrums. "I need to go home sweetheart, unfortunately I actually have a life."

"You're supposed to leave once I feel better."

"When's that going to be?"

"I don't know."

Danica raised her hands in the air. "I might as well die in my sleep, you can't use me as your safety blanket till you feel like you can take on the world again."

"No I can't because you have a husband to get back to." Heather grumbled.

"I won't apologize for that, I love him very much so please let me go back to the man who I love so much and miss so much it's driving me mad."

Heather looked away from her mother's puppy eyes losing the last will she had to fight. "If you put it like that, I'll feel horrible if you don't go to the person you love."

"Thank God! I was so tired of phone sex."

"Mom!" Heather groaned. "That was just a lot of information I didn't need."

"Uh huh"

A horn sounded outside jolting Danica from her sex stained day dreams. "That's my cue baby, I need to go. I love you so much pumpkin."

Heather grumbled out a strained goodbye watching her mother's uber drive away, when all she could hear were her thoughts she stood up ignoring Melissa's calls.

Food wasn't as important as her soft bed and fluffy pillows-

"Heather, come eat before you go back into your room."

Heather squeezed her eyes shut savoring the feeling of her soft bed-

"Come down now!"

Rolling her eyes at the incessant interruption she walked down the stairs at a snail's pace.

"You used to run down that thing when you were younger."

Heather raised her brows, "I ran down those stairs a couple of weeks ago."

"Wow! You've aged so much. This is what depression causes."

"Things like good sleep?" Heather bit into her burger holding in the tiny moan of delight. "I should have tried this sooner"

"Depression or the burger?"

"My mother taught you a thing or two before she left didn't she?"

"She sharpened my fangs." Melissa winked.

"She's a bad influence on you Melissa." Heather pouted. "You used to be so sweet and nice."

"I'm a new woman."

"Isn't that a little too late?" Heather arched a brow.

"It's never too late to be alive."

"My mother definitely planted a bad seed in you." Heather shook her head taking the last bit of her sumptuous burger.
