Love me tender, please (Sonamy)

Small confession

It's very quiet outside. There are no cars passing by, the nature is shining and the birds are singing mesmerizing songs for the two hedgehogs.

Amy has brought her friend to a place near the castle Scourge took her eight months ago. Sonic notices her weird behavior. It's not like her to be so shy and... sad. He looks at her and feels a fuzzy feeling inside.

She is looking so beautiful at the moment, but what is troubling her poor life? he wonders.

Amy takes a sit on the green grass which has upfront a running river whose sounds ease her mind enough to finally say: "Sonic, I am not okay." 

A tear is running from her watery eyes.

"All I wanted was to be loved and not left for the second time. Do you think I ask for too much?" she scoffs as a guilty feeling hits Sonic very hard. He left her. All these countless times and he never realized he loved her until she disappeared from his life. Among the other friends...

He falls on his knees. All his pride and ego lead to this situation. And now he is suffering the consequences of his ignorance towards her.

Sonic puts his knees to his chest and sits next to Amy. They don't share any glance to each other, just feelings. "Amy, what do you mean? A-Am I the cause of your suffering?" Sonic asks. The answer was obvious, but Amy had other thoughts.

"Have you ever tasted real love for a couple of hours? Even for one specific moment?" Sonic is confused as hell. He did taste true love, every time she appeared in his sight.

She was the centre of the Universe for him, but he never accepted his feelings. And now he has to pay this by seeing Amy crying for love.

The love he could have given her, but was never brave enough to do it.

"Sonic, have you ever had someone special in one night? Someone unexpected who gave you all the love you asked for? And then they disappeared... and never came back for you, even though they promised they would never hurt you again?" she asks while letting all of her anger out.

"Tell me, Sonic, have you?"

The answer was no. He never waited for anyone, he never wanted love, not from the outside. Because he was always recieving it from Amy.

But what about now? Who is Amy talking about and why does it seem so important that is making her cry?

"No. I don't think so..." he wants to reach out an arm to hold her but his brain says he shouldn't. Not right now.

"I know... you were always too busy for love... for me especially. You know, sometimes I like to think that you always loved me the same way I did but was too prideful to admit it." she smirks trough tears and continues.

"Maybe if you hadn't been so busy saving the world you would have loved me. But everything is very odd now and I don't know what to do." she adds while making Sonic more curious.

"What are you saying, Ames?" she turns her head to him and lays it on his shoulder. This makes Sonic shiver.

"I am saying... I have accepted that you never loved me and I was too clingy and someday a person came into my life for one night and changed it forever." her tears have stopped and her eyes are sparkling.

"He loved me even if he tricked me, but he showed me that he cared, but it's no use because..." she stays silent.

Sonic wants to comfort her even if it hurts him that she has found someone better than him. And he knows it too damn well.

"Who is it?" he asks with his hand over her slim shoulders. Amy ignores his question and burst into tears "Because I feel that I still love you. And the way you have been treating me lately makes me believe that you share the same feeling." she scoffs. Sonic is taken aback that she has ignored the question.

"I still love you, Sonic. And it feels so wrong..." he wipes her tears.

He doesn't know what to say. She still loved him... after all this time. He feels to guilty to take away her freedom with the person who treated her better over him.

He knows she would be happier without him. He clenches his fists and finally says: "I love you, Amy Rose! I love you too much to leave you like this in this very vulnerable moment. I know I have done you wrong in the past and maybe I am still not worthy of your love, but please let me be by your side when this life is difficult for you. Please. Your happiness matters the most to me  even if by the end of the day you choose someone else. I just want you to be happy. Please let me do this for you, Amy!" he finishes and covers his mouth.

(Btw, I wanted it to be a Steven Universe reference by adding the iconic "Why won't you let me do this for you, Rose!" how Pearl said but differently, so yeah I really want people to recognise a bit from this dialogue because Amy is still named Rose, so it would have matched if put correctly XD)

Amy is flabbergasted. He finally said it... after all these painful years...
He said it.

The silence is too loud now as Amy is thinking. She is willing to risk it all for Sonic, but she knows she will feel guilty for the story with Scourge.

But right now, regrets and guilt don't matter. Only Amy's warm and soft lips against Sonic's.

The calming kiss they have been waiting for. The one that would change two lives. Their kiss.

The green light is getting closer and closer to the city covered in darkness. The rage in this beast is too loud. It can burst out in any second. Trough any running vein of his.

Revenge is the best solution for the king. For Scourge. After he punches the heck out of Sonic and wins Amy back. Only if they were here...
