I look at the email. room 203 it read. great. More walking to start my day. How wonderful. My trailer had coffee, along with the champagne of course, which I had grabbed before leaving. it was warm outside, so I had already planned out my day in my head. first, get me and grab lunch. then go to the beach with Cora, and maybe go to the club at the end of the day. we'll see what happens.
I opened the room to 203, and what I saw was a room full of people, 10 at least, and the sound of the door opening made all of their heads turn toward me. I give a small, embarrassed wave, and close the door quietly. I scanned the room. A familiar face caught my eye. him. the guy I saw earlier, that's him! And..a girl? Who I assumed was his girlfriend that he thought I was earlier.

I hear a loud clap coming from the middle of the room. my phone which I was gripping onto made its way to my side, as I was determined to pay attention to what this person had to say. it was him. Baz Luhrmann. I mean, I had seen him before, but not right here right now, in-the-moment type thing, if you know what I'm saying. Only on call n stuff. "Ok, everybody! I'm going to have Stella and Austin rehearse the scene where Elvis and Priscilla first meet." He states. I smile and look around the room. That's great and all but we have one tiny problem. Who's Austin..? After what seemed like hours of silence that guy I had seen earlier, stepped up. I guess he was Austin. I smiled at him and stepped toward him. "everybody give them space." Baz declared out to the crew in the room. They all nodded, taking a few steps backward.
"And then he said to me," I started. I badly mocked using a cigarette, sucking in and blowing out the smoke, and I also made my voice a bit lower and raspier. "you know what, Priscilla? You gotta listen to me, sweetie. Because this guy, he's got girls all over the world, okay? He's got girls waiting outside his house, and girls writing him fan mail." I adjusted my voice back to normal. "And then mommy decides to pitch in too and go," I made my voice a pitch higher. "Ooh, what could he possibly see in you? okay? What do you two do up there all night?" I go back to my normal tone. "And—" I pretend to be cut off.
"And I just said, 'mom, dad we talk and we listen to music, okay? That's all." I finish. Jesus christ am I out of breath? "And then they were going on and on about that photo of you and Natalie Wood riding around on that bike in Memphis. And.." I trail off, and then gasp lightly, seeming excited about what I had to say next. I scurry over to Austin, who's resting his head on his knees, sitting on the floor.
"And then what I said..." I begin again. " and I said this really calmly. I said. ' listen okay? he's just really lonely. And quite frankly, so am I." I pause for a second, staring into Austin's blue eyes. "And then they didn't really know what to say after that so I went upstairs and went to bed." I finished.
"I've Never met anyone like you." You hear Austin say softly. "Well, I hope not," I say, a slight smile featuring itself on my face. We both break eye contact, looking at the floor we were both sitting on. "So... what is Natalie Wood like?" I say to break the silence between the both of us. "She nice, you know.." Austin started. "She's been writing me, about acting." He stated. "I've been asking her stories about.. working with James dean and..." Austin trailed off. "God I just hope to one day be as good as him. You know?" He asks me. I hum in response.
"Colonel's promised me that when I get back he's gonna set me up in Hollywood to be a serious actor," Austin said, a stern tone Making its way to his voice. "That's really what I dream of..." he pauses like I did- acting as if he was interrupted.
"He don't boss me around." He stated. You glanced down at the floor, a flustered smile making its way to your face. "Hey.. you know I think if you dream it, you'll do it." You say softly, the raspiness of your voice taking over.
"You do?" Austin questions, a smile lurking on his face as well. You smile brightly and nod. "Yeah." There is a comforting silence settling in between you two. You both stare into each other's eyes. You break eye contact, glancing at baz.
"Great! Just great! The both of you performed beautifully!" You hear baz say. You giggle in excitement smiling brightly at him. You hear claps come from around the room, and glance at Isla. Her eyes were glued to her phone. I see Austin's smiling face immediately drop, seeing where her eyes had been focused on. A smile had ripped through her focused face. It was a smug, secretive smile. Austin's expression had gone from disappointed, to a face of realization. She was cheating.
It was a crude observation, maybe we were both even misinterpreting her, but it was plain on her face. The way she bit her lip, and twirled her hair around her finger. She soon noticed the clapping and snapped lit of her gaze. She put on a fake smile and clapped for her partner. His eyes trailed over to mine, looking at his heartbroken face. I mouthed, I'm so sorry. He half-smiled at me, knowing I saw everything happen.

Baz said we had rehearsed perfectly, and we're a quote-unquote "match made in heaven." he said we "played like the perfect couple. Felt like Elvis and Priscilla we're right in front of him." which made both me and Austin smile, but I couldn't help but think. What about his match made in heaven? Was he gonna break up with her? As I walked out of my trailer, I turned around to lock it. From behind me, I heard a car unlock. My head sharply turned around, to see Austin making his way over to his car. I hurry behind him ."Austin wait up!" I yell after him. He stops to turn around to look at me. My shoes pattered on the ground, as I walked at a fast pace. "Would you like to come over tonight? I know we just met today, but I figured we should get to know each other. You know, for our roles. We might as well get comfortable with ourselves." I say a smile painted on my face, the afternoon sun lighting it perfectly. "Uhm, sure. I think it will be a harder night tonight, you saw Isla. I think it's time to break it off." he says, his eyes darting towards the asphalt. "She's been showing signs all month. First, she started to cancel dates, then the cutoff of sex, she totally just stops sharing stuff with me," he said. I nod, my eyes also making their way to the asphalt. "Well, I'll have some wine at home, you can come and have a drink," I suggest, looking back at him. "My friend will be there, but she won't mind," I say, nodding to myself. He grabs my phone out of my hand.
After a minute of him typing, he handed my phone back to me. "It's my number. Text me the address, I'll be there, promise," he says, getting into his car. "Great! See you later tonight!" I respond. I wave bye to him and turn around. Now I'm on good terms with my on-screen husband. Just great. I was happy he was ending it with Isla though. I hadn't known her, but she seemed like a real bitch.
I hopped into my car, revving the engine. God am I excited to go home. Beach tan here I come.

I'm aware this is super bad, but I'm having a massive block. Mental health has been shit lately. My best friend died a few years back, and recently I've been seeing her everywhere. I saw her car a few days back, her house, and it really fucked me up. So I'm sorry if this chapter was shit. Love ya, xoxo Robyn.
