The Contests Book (previously Do You Want To Win A Review)

May 2015 Challenge - ENDED

Here's another chance for you to get some feedback on your work and a few new readers.

GOAL: write a short story or a one-shot in this genre: FANTASY. I'll give you a few suggestions at the bottom.

HOW TO ENTER? Do both of these things:

1. Write "For CatMint5's May contest" or "For CatMint5's May challenge" in your summary or/and at the top of your first chapter.

2. Once your story is completed, come back here and give a link to it in the comments.

Also, if you can dedicate a chapter to me, do so. That way, if something goes wrong with the comment with your entry link, I'll see the dedication and know that you're participating.

PRIZES for the winner*:

~ I'll give feedback on the winning story;

~ I'll give two shout-outs of the winning story on my profile;

~ I'll advertize the winning story in The Contests Book;

~ I'll add the winning story to my reading list Winners;

~ I'll give feedback on another story by the winner (on three chapters);

~ I'll give a shout-out of that other story on my profile.

* Last time I couldn't pick between two stories so there were two winners, each getting the rewards. I also gave three additional shout-outs to authors who deserved it.

ABOUT YOUR ENTRIES:

~ Due date: May 30, 2015

~ Length: from one word to twenty pages

~ Genres: Short Story, Fantasy plus anything else you want

~ Rating: all (from a story suitable for children to mature content)

STORIES I WON'T ACCEPT:

~ Stories that are not entered properly (no "For CatMint5's March contest" and link here; as I said, a dedication is optional, but it is a way to make sure I'll receive your entry);

~ Stories over twenty pages;

SUGGESTIONS. You may use these in your entries or make something of your own. I'm not going to be looking for action in particular (you can make this an action story with fantasy elements though); I want to see what your imaginations can come up with.

~ Describe a magical place.

~ Describe a magical creature. It can be a known one, you can add or take away from the properties of a known one or you can make one up yourself.

~ Ever had a dream in which you were in a world different than ours? You can describe that.

~ You've always wanted to ride or slay a dragon? Now is the time to share that fantasy!

~ Give your heroes a quest.

~ Fan fictions about fantastical places are welcomed so... Any Harry Potter fans out there? ;)
