Prince and the outsider

Chapter 2

Magnus's POV

Today is a rainy day. Right now, I am driving to the council's building for a meeting. Although only the kids of the royals and other important werewolves are going there. I believe it could be about our future duties or something like that. I am not very fond of the meeting nor the council themselves. But I have to be there or else my parents are going to be the ones to kill me first. So, in anything I am going. At least my best friend Marley is going to be there. She is too good for this world.

After finally reaching the building and going inside it, I spotted Marley in the corner of the outside door of the meeting room we will have to be in. she noticed me and a smile appeared on her face. She was never a fan of the meeting more of so being in a crowd, she is a shy person, but once she is comfortable with the person, she could be seen as almost a different person. We are friends since childhood as our parents are friends themselves.

We chatted for a but before we got in the room and went up to sit in our places. I was glad that Marley is always sitting next to me as she is grateful for that too. The meeting officially started once the council members were in, as always, they looked serious. They started by telling us what most of us could already get to their positions within this month. I believe that will not be me as I am not ready to be a king yet. But as for Marley, she could get her position as an assistant for the council and yes, they do have those. The assistants help the council with papers, information and advise them sometimes. Marley trained for it for years. She has always wanted to be one and she is capable and smart enough to be one. I am happy for her.

Then the council told what positions are possible to be assigned to some of us. One of those jobs was Marley's position as a council's assistant, but as far as she told me is going to be assisting and learning further with the older assistants. She looked very happy to hear it. I may not see her as often as I used to because of it, but I should not worry about it right now I'll do it later. Afterwards the council began talking about a trip we all are going to. Well the destination is in the rogue land. They are having a feast of endurance. Apparently, it is about the time about a few hundred years back when almost the entire rogue land had a year of food shortage and the crops where not growing as fast as they should have.

I think that this trip is just for the council an excuse to learn what is interesting happening in the lands. This trip will be next week and we will travel the major big towns in all four directions. The feast lasts a week, so it is enough time to visit all four towns. The council members also told us that each four directions have different ways of celebrating this feast. Well I hope this trip will be fun.

After the meeting ended me and Marley decided to go to her house. I like being at her house as it is literally near the forest, unlike my castle I have to walk a bit to reach the forest, but don't get me wrong I like my own home, the castle. When we got to her house, her parents were not there, as usual. We got upstairs to her bedroom. Her room has a wall on the left side which is covered in bookshelves and the shelves are all filled with books. Well my friend is quite a book nerd. She got to her bed and sat down on it. I sat down on the chair she had near her desk. I looked over her desk that was full of papers. Some of them were her studies for her position and some were letters I guess. When we get to her house we usually go down stairs to the living room and watch a movie or something on the tv. We might do it later.

We talked for a while until we decided to go to the kitchen and make ourselves a meal. We just made simple sandwiches as both of us are not good at cooking. After that we went to the living room and hopped on the couch and started to watch a movie. This one was an action one. Almost as the movie ended Marley's dad came home. He said hi to us and walked upstairs. He looked very tired. Well he is the chief of the police so it makes sense. And I knew that my friend's mom won't come back until next month. She is in a mission. Though Marley already missed her a lot even if her mother went to the mission two weeks ago. None us know what she is doing there.

After the movie I decided to leave and go for a run and let my wolf out. My wolf liked that idea a lot, so I did not waste too much time and Marley decided to go back to her room and read as always. Once I got to the forest and shifted into my wolf form I started to run. The breeze of the wind was nice and chilly. The evening began to roll up and the sun began to descend down. The woods had a calming effect on me for some reason. I don't know I just felt calm and I don't even know what am I stressing about. It made laugh about it. The run was great and I headed home when the sun was about to be gone and the night will appear.

When I got inside the castle my mother met me in the hallway, she was on her way to the dining room to eat dinner. I joined her. We reached the dining room in seconds. My dad was already present in the room. Me and my mom sat down. The servants served us our dinner. Although I was not that hungry, but still ate my food.

"So, you are going on a trip next week, aren't you son?" my father asked me. I nodded for an answer.

"I hope you will have fun there. I was not the biggest fan of the feast, but I enjoyed the food." My mother told me. She used to be a rogue and she knows how life was before they became the rulers and changed some things. When we continued eating our food, so it would get cold.

I was the second one to finish my food after my mother. My dad had half full plates because he was very focused on reading whatever the paper he was reading was saying. It might be a report or something important as the way my dad's brows furrowed in seriousness. Me and my mother did not bother him much while eating. My sisters were supposed to be home already, but are nowhere to be found. This time I am going to look for them, though I have a couple of ideas. Even though they are teenagers they have a nanny who just goes where they go and other responsibilities she does. I mind linked her. She answered me after a few seconds, they were on their way to the castle. So, I decided to meet them.

After five minutes I spotted them walking, with ice cream in their hands. I guess my sisters insisted on getting ice cream in the evening. As soon as the nanny saw her expression changed to a guilty look, but I smiled. "Don't worry, my parents will never punish you or something." I don't her reassuring what even if she brought the girls home late, it was nothing. When all of us went inside the castle together. My mother was standing in the hallway, waiting for us. The nanny god excused and she went to her room and the girls had a bit of the same guilty face the nanny had before.

"Don't you have anything to say to me, girls?" they both looked at the ground not wanting to look in our mother's eyes. Our mom signed and just asked the twins if they wanted to have dinner. They nodded and were led to the dining room and I went upstairs to my room, but before that I went to my office. Yes, I have an office. It is still a temporary one.

Once I got inside the office I noticed a pile of papers laying on my desk. It was from our assistant. Great more paper work and as if I liked doing it. I sat down on the chair and started to look through the papers.
