Chasing her

Prom

Me, max, Nancy and el sat in line on our own neat little dressers. Chatting to each other as makeup was applied for us in the near by salon we'd booked the appointments together and arranged to meet at prom outside so we could "dramatically enter all as one" according to El we'd stuck to the same type of makeup I guess we all had natural coverage, blush and eyeshadow matching our dress I got a little dark blue with sliver we sort of half-hugged goodbye protecting our makeup up from each other not that it mattered we called each other when we arrived home and all slipped into our dresses before after hours of squealing and giggling over the phone I managed to put the phone down.
Billy was picking me up at seven and it was currently 6:45 I patiently sat on my bed okay I was a patient person I just sort of looked at myself in the mirror making sure ever hair was in place after the lady at the salon took an hour to perfect it.
"Knock knock"
Nancy and I waited patiently at the top of the stairs we had planned this perfectly: mum was going to open the door and we would gracefully walk down the stairs to our date like how they did in the movies, hopefully tho it wouldn't be one of those comedies where the girl accidentally falls down the stairs but we had practiced yesterday so we were perfect, everything had to be perfect.
The door clicked open and we heard the muffled voices of Jonathan and billy. Nancy walked down first she made an excuse than she was oldest so she had go first she pulled her shoulders back delicately handled the dress so it wasn't touching the floor on the side and elegantly glided down the stairs once she'd reached the bottom I inhaled the cool air breathing out as many nerves I could push out of me. I copied Nancy and slowly took light steps down towards billy. He stood at the bottom of the stairs in a black suit he had black shirt of with a matching balck blazer it had lighter stitches embroidered patterns on it he looked finne. He stood relaxed his arms behind his bag I reached the end of my chance to pull myself to together "there's my prom queen" I smiled and blushed although I don't think it was clear under the makeup. He revealed his hands showing a hexagonal box holding a corsage covered in white and teal flowers it was perfect for my dress
"Hold out your wrist" he said I lifted it daintily up from my side I wore Billy's ring, he tied the corsage around my wrist in a bow. He brought my hand and kissed his ring on my finger "your highness" he murmured making me giggle
"You look...lovely" I smiled
"Sweetheart you look....you look perfect" I pulled my arms around his neck "so do you"
"Okay love birds I need pictures of everyone." My mum said holding up a camera waving it in the air
We took: 2000 picture of everyone together
Probably 1000 of couples on their own and then some of me and Nancy together and separate this took up 10 minutes suddenly a shining black limo crawled into our drive "ahh the surprise is here" Jonathan said turning to billy Mike walked towards us in a little suit "aww El is gonna love it" he glared at me "shut up"
We ignored him as I jumped up and down holding my sisters shoulders "okay come on get out of my house" mom said laughing
I grabbed my sisters hand and Billy's hand too and we skipped to the car our partners trailing behind, Jonathan pulled the door open assisting us into the limo a curved swayed sofa curled around the entire back of the car I slipped on the seat rearranging my dress so it neatly flattered my legs billy placed a hand on mine stopping me from fiddling with it.
"Stop you look good okay I'm not just saying that alr stop" it was almost like he was having a go I never noticed it before but his hair had been sort of styled I think the curls slicked back then fell loosely down. Almost at his shoulders.
He pulled me towards him picking me up almost gripping my hips I turned to him grinning he pulled me on his lap smirking "finally I can kiss you now" he smiled at my lips
I pulled his lips into mine I didn't want to play with his hair knowing it was styled he didn't play with mine so I didn't in return. I stuck my tongue into his mouth he did the same pushing mine away for dominance the whole time we were in the care everyone was making out we stopped for five while we picked up El for Mike and max and Lucas but as soon as we all returned to the car billy pulled me on top of his legs he leaned back on the sofa pulling me by my neck avoiding my dress and makeup the limo came to a hault by how I had sat up leaning on billy and we began chatting to the others finally I we stepped outside I could already here distant music coming from the gym I grabbed Billy's hand swinging it as I did "hey did u know I love you" I asked
He chuckled "yes love yes I did and I love you more" we all walked into school beaming hand in hand music was already playing
"so are you gonna dance with me" I asked turning to face billy pleading with an innocent smile
"I'm not sure you want to see that sweetheart"
"Please I promise I won't judge please please pleasseee" I asked
"You are so hot when you beg I'll have to make you do it more often " he smirked avoiding the thought of dancing
"I would if you dance with me please"
"Mmm" he pondered "fine only for you" I pulled him into the middle of the room the songs changed to a slower pace. He placed him arms around my waist and I did his neck I fiddled with the corsage as I fell into his gaze he gently swayed left and right in time I stared deeply into the deep brown pools I wanted to dive in to them but I don't think I would ever come up for air if I did. His red rose lips pulled into a smile giving me a chance to blink and stop my deep stare. The song stopped and our favourite songs played Nancy and Jonathan joined us as we jumped around in a ring smiling as max and Lucas also joined as well I turned to billy "hey I'm gonna get us some drinks okay I'll be back in a sec" he said sauntering away casually I smiled nodding.
"Evening m'lady" I stood still before turning around "oh my gosh hi eddie" o said pretending like I didn't have a clue who the luring body was behind me he was in a white shirt with a balck blazer trousers and tie he look smart,cute. "Looking good wheeler" he complimented looking at my dress I laughed doing a little spin on the spot "don't enjoy it too much Munson how's your "dance with everyone plan going"! I asked
"It's going good although I have agreed to hooking up with like 10 girls later so that'll be fun"
"Oh okay I won't steal you from your fans" I laughed
"Wanna dance?" He asked
"Don't expect me to want to hook up"
"We'll see" smirking although it I knew he didn't really mean it or I hoped he didn't. Weirdly we sort of slow danced to "take on me" but it kind of worked I smiled as he swayed exaggerating every movement I pushed him back gently l as I laughed at his goofy smile but stopped "woah someone's been working out" I laughed, i could feel his abs through his shirt I could actually see then when I looked hard enough why tf am I looking y/n move you fucking eyes!!!. "you like that wheeler?"he took my hand and traced it across his chest I was staring at the hills on his chest ignoring him what the fuck am I doing oh god billy don't kill Eddie, Eddie please go away. I glanced up to see a smiling Eddie "sorry" I said
"Is that a blush wheeler"
"It's probably just the makeup" I excused I prayed for someone or something to take me away from the conversation
"Eddieeee come dance with me" some girl pulled at his jacket
"In a minute" he stopped her holding up a hand his eyes gazing through me I couldn't hold his stare without falling back my mind moved my head for me to peek at the girl.
"Heyyyy she's pretty go hook up with her" I laughed avoiding everything that just happened he hasn't let go of my hand I wanted to pull it away but fraction of my heart somehow kept it there and wouldn't let go I didn't want to make him feel bad.
"She's okay" we laughed " alright I'll see you later princess" he said kissing my hand smoothly i slowly retracted it form his touch
"Cya Munson" I walked away to find billy holding two cups of punch "hey you having fun" billy asked smiling
"Yes don't think your not done dancing though" I smiled taking a drink.
"What's up?" I asked smiling
"Oh nothing I'm just thinking about my smart funny beautiful girlfriend"
"Is she rlly that pretty"
"Everything about her is beautiful her smile her personality"
"I think you should dance with her"
"Not a chance" he said laughing
"Yes you are come on" I said pulling him away from his drink again.
"And if I don't" he questioned tracing his hand done my waist my my hips
"Well sorry darling but I don't see any lockers for you to push me against" I smiled reminding him constantly of that
"Don't start sweetheart wouldn't want ti punish you would I" I raised my eyebrows at this surprised as a smirked slowly appeared across his face. He took my hand and twirled me around on the spot barely moving we danced around billy tried but he sort of just looked weirdly uncomfortable I didn't tell him that though of course. The songs slowed and switched into true by spandau ballet and we returned to how we started we were in the middle of the room I just stared at him smiling, he grabbed my waist towards him so our torsos were touching, I gasped and his jaw dropped sarcastically he smirked as it closed. He pressed a hard kiss on my lips , i cupped his face and kissed him back, sighing into him his lips retraced from mine and i grinned deeply at him.
"Such a pretty girl" he said softly, bringing a bigger grin to my  face.
"Is that so?" I asked twirling his blonde curls between my fingers and looking at him lovingly
.  "Undeniably" he rubbed the tip of my nose with his and once again kissed me  tenderly tilting his head left to right allowing me to push myself further on his lips. I felt heads turned around to me I didn't care pulled him closer and closer to me by his shirt his whole around curled around my back taking control over my movement he held my face with the other eventually we slowly returned to dancing.
"Theyre all looking at you" billy beamed at me.
"Only cause your here too" I replied focusing the attention on him.
"That because they all shocked that you want to be with me" I giggled at this
"Whatever you wanna tell yourself billy"

Eddie pov
I saw her, kissing him it was always gonna be him wasn't it she was happy I knew it "hey Munson what you staring at." Max asked sipping punch
"Y/n" I didn't even look at max I just fixed my eyes on her, her curled hair bouncing on her shoulders it was hard to move them away; I thought of everything we'd shared together, our first kiss, the 2am hair cuts the shopping dates and hours under blankets watching films.
"You know she really did love you idk if she still does but I know she did it was only when the whole thing at the mall happened and she felt so that she broke up with u and billy" Max interrupted the trail of thoughts
"How is she with him then"
"Because my brother doesn't take no for an answer especially not with my best friend"  She paused and turned to me  "You love her don't you" max asked intrigued.
" guess I do" I smiled. Max sauntered  away back to her date I just stood there for a while asking myself if maybe on another path I could call her mine again it was unlikely now but, maybe

Y/n pov
Billy filled an emptiness inside of me I could spend ages smiling at him and talking to him endlessly. I never told him this but he knew.
"Hey y/n" I focused properly on him now smiling "your stepping on my feet" I looked down and realised I was i quickly jumped off them laughing
Love gun roared through the speakers I looked at billy excitedly he pulled my hand away from his neck in a spin we danced goofily not even trying it was kind of like a Chandler Bing dance I didn't realised billy had stopped until I turned back around billy was just as usual smiling "what" I said
"I love you y/n" at this point I'd paused my amazing dancing and stepped slowly closer to him not obviously. "I love you too billy"
"No like I love you, y/n I love you more than anything"
" I love you billy, your make me so happy I can't tell you enough" I said assuring him.
At this point I thought he was going to cry, billy Hargrove CRYING he pulled my against him nearly crushing my spine like I could care he pushed his face into my shoulder I I curled my arms round him he moved away eventually I lightly kissed his nose
"I love you" I whispered as I drew my face away slowly. And you couldn't tell but my heart has been doing backflips since the first kiss
