Chapter 1.

The sound of rain hits the window softly while an alarm goes off in the distance. Tobias slowly puts his head up from his pillow and faces his alarm clock. 8:37 it read.
Panicking, Tobias pushes his covers off rapidly and grasps his clothes to put on. By the time he had gotten to school everyone had spread out to their classes. Tobias only had 3 minutes before he needed to attend, in this short time he managed to go to his locker, 5 flights of stairs and to his classroom.

Looking around, He found his normal seat he uses. Everything comes so easy to him. He has never had a problem with grades, music, hobbies, sleep, everything is figured out. There is no need for any problems at this time. Nothing can go wrong. Nothing can tamper with his life.

A short blonde boy gazes towards Tobias and smiles. The boy turns his head back to the board swiftly not giving a second thought about what he did. He could feel his face heating up with embarrassment. There was a weird feeling he looked whenever he looked at David, it was a feeling of worry but also comfort. This strange feeling made Tobias's body hot. His face seared with blush. What comes over him when he sees this boy? The confusion engulfed him whole while he loosened his tie on his uniform so he could breathe.

Before Tobias could think anything else the teacher had walked in, tests in hand. The groans of students filled the room except his own. Knowingly, Tobias knew how good his grades were. He had all A's in every class. There was nothing to worry about. Not at all. Tobias spaced out until the teacher slammed the test on Tobias's desk.

'See me after class Mr Castro'

The teacher said in such a disappointed voice. He looked all around him, no one paid attention to him. They all just expected Tobias to see the teacher for another award or a harder test since he excelled at the average one. Slowly but steadily, Tobias turned over his test. He got a C-. Panic spread through his body, his palms got sweaty, his heart went miles feeling as it raced circles around his head.

'A C-?!'

Tobias thought to himself. He had never gotten a C- before. He has always been a A student. He did all the extra credit, he prided himself on work, he would always pay attention. This made no sense. Before He knew it the bell had rang. He was too busy panicking about his grade. Tobias's leg's felt as if they were jelly walking to the door. He thought he was going to be sick.

Almost escaping the classroom, the teacher spoke softly;

'Mr Castro, a word?'

Tobias turned around, fixing his tie neatly. The walk back to his teacher's desk felt yards away yet it was just a few feet.

'Why don't you take a seat Mr Castro?'

The teacher said. Fretting, Tobias took ahold a seat from an empty desk and put it near the teacher's.

'Mr Castro, this is the first time you have ever received a grade lower than an A. Care to explain why?'

Tobias didn't know either what had happened. He dreaded how his teacher sat forwards then back into his chair. Everything went so slow. Finally after a short pause, Tobias responded with;

'I don't know sir. I am as confused as you are. May I do the test again? I promise I will do better'

The teacher wasn't so pleased with his response,

'We don't get second chances here Mr Castro. But if you can tell me why, in the years you've been going to school, this is your first C. Then I can make an exception.'

He looked him up and down before leaning forwards for an answer. Tobias just stared at him hoping he would answer his own question for him.

'I'm sorry. I don't know sir.'

He then got up, taking his bag in hand and leaving. He could hear the teacher behind him speaking loudly for him to come back, but he blocked it out. Tobias needed to know why this happened to him. Luck was always on his side. Why just now has this happened? Why just now did he mess up? He was a failure. There's no place left for him anymore.

Tobias turned the corner to his locker. He could feel tears swelling up into his eyes while he put away his things. Right then he felt something on his back. His head perked up and turned around. A small blonde boy with a brown bang in his face stood there worryingly. He looked Tobias in the face asking;

'Are you Alright? Why are you crying?'

Before the boy could speak again Tobias interrupted;

'I'm fine and I'm not crying. It's just allergies.'

'In the middle of winter?'

The boy replied with.

Tobias was a hot mess at this point, his throat closed up, eyes wet from his own tears. As much as he wanted to push past the boy, he also didn't want to move from his grasp. His hand was still on him. Holding his shoulder. The touch of this boy sent Tobias insane. He wanted to stay like this forever, with the boy's voice ringing in his ears.

Unconsciously, Tobias pushed past the blonde leaving his locker open rushing away.
