Tobias layed in bed for what felt like days. His focus became unattached from the real world. He just layed in bed to avoid life itself. It wasn't easy falling
asleep.
You would think being in bed for three days would let you rest. Not when a cute but annoying blonde keeps showing up in your dreams. Tobias couldn't get his mind off him, his eyes, his hair, it was all intoxicating. Yet so beloved by him. He thought how this must be how drugs feel like. Definitely won't be doing those. Finally Monday morning rolled by. He got dressed, combed his hair etc. Something was off of his routine though. He felt afraid of something. Not knowing what that something is.
Walking down the main side walk with his umbrella Tobias remembered something his mother said.
'We can talk when I get back.'
Well that was a lie. They never talked after that. Maybe she was frightened by what her son had said. Maybe Tobias said something without knowing.
Either way he wasn't going to talk with her anytime soon.'Hey!'
Tobias turned around to find a short blonde sprinting towards him. Trusting natural instinct he would have ran but in the situation maybe he could talk to someone that would listen. He did before, why not now?
'Hey how are you today? I heard you got suspended. Did you do something like how Eric broke the elevator?'
The blonde spoke loudly.
'Uhm... I didn't get suspended and who broke the elevator?'
Tobias looked at him with a confused face. He found it funny how the boy looked up at him as if he was the sky. Tobias wasn't that tall but David was definitely extremely short.
'Oh, Eric, one of my friends. He wanted to see how many people could jump in the elevator before it broke. No one was hurt but I never told on him.'
He looked the short boy up and down before speaking to him;
'Yeah that's a good idea. You could get him expelled, and how would some one that dumb get into a school like this?'
The blonde looked up to his face then grabbed his tie bringing him down to his level.
'Don't call my friends dumb. Eric can be clever when he wants to be. Watch your mouth'
Tobias stood there hunched over to the blonde's height. They were face to face now. His glasses were fogging up from how close the two were, David was inches from his nose.
Tobias moved closer to his eyes and could feel blood flush to his face.'I'm sorry. It won't happen again.'
Tobias spoke uncontrollably.
David then let go of his tie and fixed his collar. As you would expect, the whole time a million thoughts spiraled through Tobias's agonizing head.
'Why do I feel like this?'
He thought to himself.
'If you ever call my friends names again I will... uhhhhh. Steal your glasses!'
Tobias chuckled at him standing right up now. David stood on the tip of his toes desperately trying to get higher. He looked so ridiculous with his angry expression on such a tiny figure.
'Well uh. I better be going.' Tobias said
'Yeah, bye.' David replied.
They both went in the same direction.
