All of the House Leaders and heirs are gathered together. Everyone looking up at us, at me. I shiver and pull myself closer to my mother, the leader of my House.
Which House?
I can see the representatives of Shadow, Bone, Blood and Tears. But I can't see the House of Souls. I can hear my mother whispering to a Lady with blonde hair with deep blue tips.
"–where are they?"
"–they want to show off, which makes sense since they're hosting this awful show. I think they–"
They move away, and I can't hear anymore. I run towards the other heirs and see a girl with bright blue-dyed hair tied up in pigtails.
"Hello there!" she says cheerfully "I'm Tia, of the House of Tears."
I look around and it's just me and Tia.
"Hi, Tia. I'm Kyra, House of–"
I hear a loud trumpet and I jump, surprised.
"Kyra." my mother calls me over sharply "Get over here."
As I walk towards my mother and look back at Tia, I wonder if I'll ever see her again.
