A collection.

Part one: Black history.

Rosa Parks
Martin Luther King. Jr
Ruby Bridges.
And more,
All amazing black icons we strive to be like,
A soar.
But there's more we never talk about
Claudette Colvin
Annie Malone, who came before madam C. J walker. But we give her the credit.
They soared too, they all did.

Part two: Juneteenth

From
Slaves To
Freedom To
Entrusting Our Holiday to White People,
What have we become?
Harriet Tubman would not have been proud,
What are we doing my black brothers and sisters?

Why are we handing our holiday over, making it federal?
So they can make money off of us again?
We are not their slaves anymore.
We do not pay their bills.
Our experience
And Existence
Will be known
Our Ancestors
And Descendants
Will not be taken in vain,
Them lynching from trees shall not be taken in vain,
Their blood, sweat, and tears:

Shall NOT be taken in vain.
