[Chapter Summary] Date night has arrived! You are ready for a night of romance, and the boys are ready to paint the town red with your blood.

The alarm on your phone screeched at high volume, forcing you to wake up. It was 7 AM, and you had to be on the campus of Santa Carla University by 9 AM to take your test. You groaned, pushing back your covers and swinging your feet off the bed and to the floor. Queen, your fur baby, perked up, seemingly glaring at you for jolting her awake.

"You're not the only one that's tired, you fuckin' furball," you responded, half teasing but half not. That cat always gave you an attitude; she was such a diva. You yawned and shuffled to the bathroom to get yourself together.

Today was going to be a busy day. You had a test, another brief shift at Gamer Max, plus a date at 8 PM with four exquisitely gorgeous men. David, Dwayne, Paul, and Marko.

You were nervous. You weren't fully prepared for your test because Maria smooth-talked you into overtime last night. You also had butterflies in your stomach about seeing the boys.

David told you to wear something nice, so you mulled over what you had in your closet.

Maybe you could wear that little black number you bought from Mondawmin Mall before you moved?

(Favorite Color) was your favorite, but you occasionally loved to pair it with a pop of something else. It would be a bold fashion choice, but you knew it would work with your flair. Black also looked as lovely against your skin as (favorite color) did.

You could pair the dress with your favorite open-toe heels and purse. A simple but cute date outfit, you mused. You settled on the ensemble as you brushed your teeth and washed your face. You wanted to hurry up, get dressed, and get out of the house so you could get your test and shift finished.

You were excited about your date and dying for 8 PM to hurry up and come.

The morning flew by, and noon approached. You arrived at Gamer Max for your afternoon shift. You got off at 4 PM, so you'd have plenty of time to drive home and get beautified. You began thinking about how you'd do your make-up.

You didn't want anything too crazy because you were already wearing bold colors for your lips, nails, and dress. You decided to use neutral shades with a black-winged liner for your eyes. You'd also do a little contouring on your face, but not much.

Lost in thought and planning your makeup look, you didn't notice Maria approaching the counter until you heard her voice.

"Hey! How was your test?" Maria inquired.

"I think I did fine, but I know I screwed up on a few questions," you informed her as you placed price tags on a new shipment of games.

Maria frowned. "I'm sorry I interrupted your study time," she apologized.

"No worries," you assured cheerfully. "There's a silver lining in every cloud. I made some extra money, and I have a date tonight. So I can't complain. Those things wouldn't have happened if I weren't here."

Maria bristled visibly at your response, tight-lipped and wide-eyed.

"Is there something wrong?" You asked your supervisor. The odd look she wore on her face concerned you.

"Um – No, (Y/n)," she stammered, trying to find the right words. "Well. It's just that you're –"

Be very careful how you choose your next words, Maria. David interjected into her thoughts sternly.
