"Ross, I need Santa Carla on lockdown," David growled into the receiver of his phone as he kicked pieces of rubble out of the way. "(Y/n)'s mother got away. Let every local know that she's to be seized on sight. And if they can't do that, they need to contact me directly."
"Yes, David."
David hung up the phone, resisting the urge to crush the device in his palm. In a fit of rage, he drew his fist back and smashed a hole in the already crumbling wall of the Dipper Bar.
"When I get my hands on that hunter, I will flay him alive! As for her mother...I think she just earned an eternity in the toy room," David spat. "I want her to suffer. To see the monster her daughter will become. Death is too good for her."
"You know (Y/n) won't stand for that," Dwayne muttered as he ducked under a fallen support beam to reach his brother. "The love for her mother is too strong."
"Dwayne's right," Paul chimed in. "Our best bet is to keep her from leaving the city and ending her. What (Y/n) doesn't know won't hurt her."
David growled, his shoulders trembling with fury.
"Calm down," Dwayne soothed as he took his Alpha into his arms. "There's nowhere she can possibly go. We have eyes everywhere. Even if she did slip through the cracks, we have connections on the east coast. The Lazarus Twins will be more than happy to take care of her for us. For the right fee."
David sighed in Dwayne's arms, breathing through his turbulent emotions. He calmed, leaning into his brother's tender touch. "Please tell me you have good news," David muttered into Dwayne's chest, his voice muffled by smooth skin, thick muscle, and leather.
"I do," Dwayne confirmed as he stroked David's hair. "Gil Young is dead. He put up a pretty good fight, but he's been taken care of."
"Good," David whispered. "One down, three to go. Let's search the city. If we don't find anything by 3 AM, we go home to the little woman."

"Turn back!" Tia Young shouted, leaning forward from the backseat of the truck to jerk the steering wheel.
Virginia Frog squealed, fighting the frantic Tia and the steering wheel to maintain control of the vehicle.
Poe Frog grabbed the rowdy woman, throwing her in a bear hug and pulling her back. "Look! We can't! We barely got out of there with our lives. We have to go!"
"I'm not leaving without my daughter and my brother!" Tia shouted as she struggled in Poe's grip.
The car grew silent. Virginia Frog locked eyes with her son through the rear mirror. A look of pain and regret blanketed her irises.
"What?" Tia asked in confusion. "What's going on? Where's Gil? Where's my brother?!"
Poe Frog tightened his grip on Tia, wrapping his legs around her lower body to gain control of her kicking legs. "Mrs. Young..." Poe began. "Your brother...he's...he's dead."
Tia whipped her head around. She stared wide-eyed at the young man who saved her life in disbelief. "No..." She whispered in a tiny voice. "NO! Gilly isn't dead! He's not DEAD!"
