Lyra

I skipped down the pathway toward Hogsmeade. I was alone but I didn't care. Sometimes it was good to have some peace and quiet. I flicked stones off my fingers, watching them tumble down the path ahead of me. The light breeze blew through my hair, brushing my face.

I wore one of my favourite muggle outfits. Oh, what a relief it was to be out of my school clothes for once. I wore a black skirt, a deep red shirt, my beige coloured autumn jacket and my purplish coloured beanie. My hair was in a messy braid, over my left shoulder.

I heard a twig snap behind me, slightly to my right. I whipped around, narrowing my eyes as I observed the grounds around me. I turned back to the path, only to be hit by a heavy force and be sent sprawling onto my side. I hurriedly flipped onto my back, scuttling backward until my back pressed against a tree. Mulciber stood in front of me.

"Hello." I waved, deciding that my best bet was taking advantage of his poor attention span.

He scowled at me. "Davi."

I smirked up at him. "Mulciber."

"Going on a date, are you?"

I decided to lie for all it was worth. "Oh, yes! You noticed. Though, your eye sight issue hasn't improved, I dare say. You're looking at a bush instead of me."

He gritted his teeth as his eyes settled back on me. "What git would ask you out?"

"You." A giant smirk spread across my face as I remembered.

His face erupted into fury. He grabbed the front of my shirt, shoving me against the tree. "You better watch yourself, Ravenclaw." He spat out the name. His eyes settled on something behind me and he dropped me onto the ground. "You're lucky this time, Davi." He hissed before turning and disappearing back up the path. I peered around the tree, seeing the Marauders.

I leapt to my feet and turned on my heel, hurrying away. I felt a hand grab my wrist, jerking me backward. I stumbled, falling to the ground before landing in the boy's arms. He shoved me to my feet and then I saw the grey eyes. I pushed him away from me. "Davi."

"Black." I hissed.

I hurried past him, yanking my wrist from his grip and walking past the other three boys. Only sending one lingering look to Remus, whom refused to make eye contact. As soon as they were out of view, I sprinted the rest of the way to Hogsmeade through the trees. Only, this time I wasn't exactly myself.

I flung myself down into a chair as soon as I got into the doorway of the three broomsticks. I sighed, resting my chin on my left hand. Closing my eyes, I listened to the sounds of people moving around and concentrated on every sound, including the faint dripping of the faucet. Until I heard someone pull up a chair across from me. Opening my eyes, I saw a boy around my age from Slytherin. One of the chasers on the Quidditch team.

"Hello, Lyra." He used, what I assume was meant to be, a charming voice. But, I knew these Slytherins by now. I didn't find it charming. I heard him say my name but I didn't answer. He seemed to make a motion like he was about to poke me before I smacked his hand away.

"No."

I heard him call my name again and he attempted to poke me again. "No. Don't touch me." I smacked his hand back down.

I stood abruptly and stormed out the door. Only, that was a major mistake. I stormed right into an empty alleyway. I heard rushed footsteps behind me and I quickened my pace, only to be roughly shoved against the wall moments later.

"Get off me!" I uselessly struggled. I went to shout at him again, only to find that no sound came out. He had silenced me. I then understood his intentions. Why Mulciber had told me I'd regret leaving Slytherin. Why the Marauders hadn't wanted to leave me alone. I felt some appreciation of them for a second, but it evaporated when I remembered what was happening.

I kept struggling, cursing myself for wearing a skirt, when he roughly pressed his lips against mine. I struggled harder than ever, when he was suddenly thrown off of me. I fell to the ground, not trusting myself to stand. I faintly heard sounds of someone being brutally beaten and looked up to see someone punching the bloody pulp that was the Slytherin chaser. My hat lay on the ground next to me and I felt blood trickle down my forehead from when it was slammed against the wall. I crawled toward my fallen wand and hurriedly took the Silencing charm off of me.

My voice was raspy. "Stop. You'll kill him."

The boy stood and turned to look down at me. My breath caught as I stared at who it was.

Sirius.

"He should die! I was worried about you!" He shouted at me, but I only half heard it. "I can't care about you." My vision was disappearing and Sirius stopped talking mid sentence, having realized. The last thing I knew before my vision faded was being picked up bridal style and being carried out of the alleyway.
