Marley's hugs were for so long the way she coped with everything really. Either she's happy, sad, stressed everything is a good reason to hug him, even no reason was a good reason!
It was once again one of the situations where everything starts to feel dark, and Marley's arms felt like the brightness she needed, the place where every bad or negative thing disappears. And Marley knew it, he knew all he had to do was open his arms to hug her. She felt like she was homesick and finally got home, it felt like a room she knew everything about but yet once in it feels better, warmer, safer. But it didn't last for long, someone knocked on the door and it felt like an alarm waking her up from a dream, but assuming it was the boys coming to get Marley they ignored it.
"Rose! Open the door, I know you are here! Please hear me out!" Rose was choked hearing Stan's voice. She opened the door, took off her engagement ring and threw it at his face. "I don't want to hear anything! Go see her! Come on, you did it before you can do it now!' she replied screaming and trying to hold her tears 'And me who tried to never hurt you and that even by distancing myself from Marley, Sam, and I even stopped partying without you, I did it for you, so you don't feel insecure or anything and in return I get cheated on! That's all you got for me! And after you proposed you do that to me? I mean go on, go propose to her! But wait, before leaving I got to know, was it the first time?" "No, we did it a couple of times ago, it started last June!"
She slammed the door in his face and fell on the floor crying, she couldn't believe it he has been cheated on her for a year, she really hoped to never see him again, and even though she didn't love him to the point to marry him but she knew she didn't deserve what happened to her.Rose cried so hard that night, she forgot everything, but she does remember falling asleep in Marley's arms, him taking off her heels trying to leave the room to let her sleep in peace and her telling him to stay to hold her and not let go.
She woke up in the middle of the night, and felt like a heavyweight on her chest, she just needed to go away from there, from everyone, it's always like that with her, she gets hurt and disappears. And it never felt like a good idea like now, it felt like every moment she spent there was a new problem she'll have to deal with, and she hated to deal with things, she even hates having to make appointments and everything involving her to talk about how she feels out loud. She had to go, she didn't want to explain herself, feeling all the eyes on her or hearing anything related to Stan or Marley, it didn't matter how much she wanted to be with Marley she had to go. So, not long after, she was packed, had her tickets and hotel. It was their last day anyways, but she needed to go before anyone could see her.
Disappearing has been her thing since she moved to France, whenever things get complicated, stressful or sad, she gets out of sight, she can't explain it and everyone just got used to it. But in fact, she never disappeared from Marley, she never felt like it, but this time it was different, of course it was, after all it's the first time he's one of the main reasons why had to disappear. But still she couldn't leave with nothing, she wrote a note to inform him she won't be seen or heard from for the next three days and he shouldn't be worried. She knew it would drive him crazy and he would try to reach out and that's why she shut her phone down! It was good enough she informed someone she was going away, it's the first time! But it wasn't anyone! It was Marley! Her Marley!
She felt weird, it was the first time in a long while she had no idea what would happen. In September college will be over for her, she's going to find herself alone in Paris, she has no idea what to do, should she try things with Marley or not? Should she tell her parents about Stan's story or hide it, she'd hate it if they start hating him. She knew she would figure it out once she clears her mind. So she left.
