Chapter 11

In all discretion, Rose went back to her room to call her gynecologist, luckily for her, everyone was still asleep, she was safe to call without risking getting exposed. In 30 minutes she had her appointment and the plane tickets, she was traveling the same day.

In the past years, Rose put all her efforts into her work, she put it before everyone, and everyone just went with it. So her parents didn't find it weird, her taking off for work, out of the blue, they know how it can be.

Olivia kept thinking about Rose, she knew it would be hard for her, boarding isn't easy for any woman to do so, especially alone! So she called her asking her to not be alone and stay with someone she can trust. The first person Rose thought about was Sam, she even hesitated to call him but she knew it was no good for anyone.

Once at the airport, Rose kept talking on the phone with Marley, she just needed to have her mind elsewhere than what she's in, somehow, she always knew her overthinking will be the end of her.

Suddenly, she felt her phone buzzing, she ignored it at first but her curiosity didn't let her. It was a text from Sam. It surprised her, it's the first time he reached out to her, she had been the one getting in touch with him for the past two years. She was confused, was it a coincidence or did he know. She couldn't help it, she had to respond right away. "Hey! I hope you're okay! I heard you're coming to Paris for work and I would like to meet up!" She was relieved, he didn't know! But was it a good idea to go meet with him? She knew Marley would be pissed, they never got along and Marley never liked him! But also he was Rose's best friend and she missed him! He was the only one who got her back whenever she needed, from the day she landed in Paris, till two years ago! She was excited to see him again!

Meanwhile at Sousse, Marley was still at Rose's parents' house. Her parents love him so much, since the first time he met them, he became like one of the family, and even when Rose and Marley slipped up, he kept being close with them like he always had been. He noticed something was off. Questions were all over his head, he was scared to ask, a part of him knew they were just worried about their daughter, and what can he do to make them stop? He got an idea, what's better than talking with Rose's mom? He was nervous, even though he always talked with her heart openly about everything. During the last years she became like a second mom to him, she saw him graduate, have his heart broken, success in his career, she was there for him always, but this time is just not the same. But once he had enough courage to talk with her, he received an intriguing text from Rose:
"Hey Marley! I'm home safe! Everything is okay. I went to the gynecologist and I'm going back tomorrow! And the day after I'm going to meet with Sam and come home! Be safe, I love you<3"

He was surprised, how could she go see him! After all, he stopped talking with her for no reason, broke her heart and now she is meeting with him out of the blue! He couldn't stop thinking, was she hiding something from him or if he just had the sudden urge to make up with her. This man tried to slip them up for good many times before. What will stop him now!
He was bumped and didn't know what to do. If he says something it can provoke a fight but if he keeps silent and acts like it doesn't bother him, he will be lying. He went with the second option and said nothing, it was complicated enough, and just went home. Note aside, he was sad he couldn't be there near her during her abortion, and even though she was okay, he wished he was with her.

The day of Rose's coming back has come, but it was also the day she was meeting with Sam. Marley has decided to go talk with her mom as he was supposed to do two days earlier, it bugged him, and he wanted to make things right this time.
For Rose's side, she was nervous, she was seeing the person who she thought was a constant in her life but who turned to a stranger for no reason. They agreed to meet at the coffee shop they used to always go to. She was there first, like usual, it's funny for her how all of her friends are always the late ones, or maybe she was just always early. She ordered her iced coffee and waited for him to come. She imagined what he could say, from an apology to an accusation for ruining I don't know what for him, but she never imagined or occurred to her what would actually happen, it was a shock for her.
