Lucas Sinclair had just come back from basketball practice, and was now rooting around his kitchen for something to eat. His parents had gone out, leaving him in charge of his little sister, Erica, and they had left some money for takeout. He brought out a plate of pineapple out from the fridge, shutting the door, and jumping back when he noticed Erica sitting at the table in front of him. She took a sip out of the juice box she was holding, shooting Lucas a disgusted glare.

"Ew, why are you at home? I thought you were throwing balls into baskets with your cowardly, baseless, loser friends." Lucas rolled his eyes at her, walking across the kitchen with his pineapple plate in hand. "Well I thought you were busy at Tina's house, talking shit about people again." Erica gave her brother a dirty look, insulted that he would dare talk back at her.

"Well dad said that you're not allowed to swear inside the house, and you can't finish that entire plate of pineapple slices by yourself, mom's saving them for her dinner party tomorrow." Lucas began to mimic her, before grabbing a handful of pineapple, and stuffing them all in his mouth. "Oh well, it looks like I just did. What a shame, right?"

Erica made a throwing up gesture, pointing towards her throat, and making it clear what she thought of Lucas. Before he left to go to his bedroom though, she stopped him. "Oh, and one of you're dorky friends called while you were out. You know, the gay nerdy one - Miles, was it?" Lucas leaned against the doorframe that lead upstairs, frowning at his younger sister.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Erica, Mike isn't gay. He has a girlfriend." Erica gave a disbelieving snort, taking another sip of her juice. "What, the strange chick with the superpowers? Their relationship seems a little dead to me. On the other hand though, I see the way the nerd looks at fruit bowl whenever they're together. You can't fool Erica." Lucas crossed his arms, growing tired of her. "Yeah, whatever you say Erica, Will might be gay, but Mike definitely isn't."

"You keep telling yourself that, dear brother, but I smell fruit, and my nose is never wrong." Lucas began to walk up the stairs, shaking his head exasperatedly. "Well you're wrong this time, Erica, you're lying," he called, practically hearing his sister's eye roll. "Impossible, and you know that. Their probably boyfriends by now." She grabbed a magazine from the kitchen counter, smiling to herself.

"Yep. Their both fruity. Gay, Homosexual, gay."

Will sat reading a comic book in the living room of his house, occasionally looking up to see his mother rushing around with a feather duster in hand. He flipped a page in the comic, just before she came over to him. "Oh, and I forgot to say, Will, but I called Murray, the other day - you remember him, don't you? Anyways, Hopper and I have a business trip in three weeks, and we were reluctant to go at first, but Murray has so kindly agreed to looking after you for a bit - I mean, just until Jonathan gets off of work - so you'll be staying with him for a while. Oh, and El's sleeping over at her friends house on that day."

Will nodded at her, turning back to his comic book, and letting what she just told him sink in. He didn't like the way she said it though - like he was some accident prone kid who needed babysitting, and not a sixteen year old who had practically looked after himself his whole life, but Will knew that Joyce had become increasingly paranoid ever since the 'accident,' so he kept his thoughts inside his head. Joyce went back to dusting the living room.

"Oh, and I invited one of your friends - Michael Wheeler - to join you at Murray's, you know, to keep you company, keep you busy." Will lifted his head at the mention of Mike's name, his face going red. "I don't think I need anyone to keep me 'busy,' mom." Joyce put the feather duster down, moving around her son. "What, I thought you would just love the idea of spending the weekend with your best friend," she remarked, going to fix up the quilt that had been thrown over the couch.
