"The beast dwells in the terrible truth in which it imposed, bloodthirsty and ravenous, and only the sacrifice of human life can allow it re-enter the hideous darkness from which it rose from...so for now, it lurks around on nights like this one, looking for necks to snap, and souls to devour!" A tall, cloaked figure had risen from the back of the couch, and it jumped at the group, causing Dustin to scream, clutching his face.

The lights flicked on, revealing a masked Eddie Munson - who was currently weak with laughter. "You should of seen yourselves! You looked like you were about to piss your pants, Henderson!" Eddie burst into fresh peals of laughter, and his boyfriend, Steve Harrington, gave him a reproving look, crossing his arms. "Stop scaring the kids, Eddie, it's not funny."

Max rolled her eyes. "I wasn't scared. It's just a fake ghost story." Eddie tilted his head to the side, smiling at her. "Oh really?" A twisted, bloody hand reached from behind the couch, grabbing the back of Max's neck, and yanking her back. She let out a muffled yell, and Steve immediately rushed to her, slapping the hand away. "You're really fucking bad with children, Eds. And stop with the props and fake blood!" Eddie chuckled, sitting down, and turning on the lights for real this time.

"Who says it's fake blood?" Max snarled at Eddie, tossing her leather gloves directly towards his face. Lucas, Max, Dustin, Mike, Will, and Steve were all sat in the living room area of Eddie's trailer, telling corny ghost stories, and eating the candy they had bought the night before. It was already becoming dark outside, despite the fact that it wasn't that late yet, and the group were eager to start trick or treating, while ignoring Steve's protests about them being 'too old' to go.

Eddie definitely didn't think so though. He had dressed as a vampire, and would, occasionally, stick out his red collar, and blood soaked fangs, curling his fingers - imitating a popular cosplay of Count Dracula he had seen the year before. Dustin had insisted that the the group dress as the ghostbusters for this year, but they had all disagreed, claiming that it was too childish, and, besides, no one sold those costumes in their size anymore. Or perhaps that was a cheap excuse.

Steve had (with some persistent convincing from Eddie and Dustin) reluctantly bought a Darth Vader costume from the same store as the kids he was babysitting, but refused to wear the mask. Will settled on the revamped version of his old Will the Wise costume - the one that Eddie had helped him sew back together after he had found it in shreds at the back of his house. Lonnie had recently payed a visit to his mother. Mike had made a last minute decision to go as Michael Myers.

So that leaves Max and Lucas. At first, Max had been completely against the idea of finding a couple's costume for them to wear, but Lucas was almost completely stuck on the idea, and had begged Max for the entire two months leading up to Halloween, and she did eventually cave in, allowing Lucas to buy a Veronica Sawyer and JD couples set. Dustin went as Obi Wan Kenobi, though he made it clear that his mood was ruined after the party's rejection towards the Ghostbusters idea.

El wasn't allowed to go out for trick or treating, as she was grounded after swapping Hopper's toothpaste for superglue as a practical joke. As you can probably guess, it didn't turn out well. Everyone did feel bad for her, but that empathy was almost completely forgotten when the street lights flickered on, and there were voices to be heard outside. Stopping mid-way into their argument, they all turned their heads towards the door, where a desperate pounding pressed against the atmosphere.
