"Grandma!"

Navia and Destiny ran to hug Grandma Lucy.

At that moment they both realized how scared they were that wouldn't make it. They needed reassuring embrace.
Too prideful to look over and get it from the next person though.

"Please tell is you're hear to take us home," Destiny said as they broke up the hug.

"Wish I could sweetpeas."

"Are-are you watching us? If that's the case then just tell us what to do. How to do it. Some kind of heads-up or cheat code. Something."

Grandma Lucy sighed. "I wish I could. Trust me. But I get sent here when there's need. And seeing as you've made progress, I can pitch in."

"That was progress?"

"Yes Navia," Grandma Lucy said with a smile. "Now..."

Tapping her walking stick on the ground thrice, Grandma Lucy gestured towards the rest of the void where colourful dust appeared and twirled around, becoming brighter as it played with the white theme of the void.

The void was then filled with life when a blend of voices and noises filled the space as different memories of Navia and Destiny were spread across the void on walls.

In the corners were two dark gray doors. One labelled Navia and the other Destiny.

"These here are your memories girls," Grandma Lucy said as she walked towards one wall and placed her palm on it. "Every memory you girls share is our here."

"What of the ones we don't?" Destiny asked.

"That's what lies behind those doors over there. All your private memories."

Navia furrowed her brows and turned to face her grandmother, peeling her eyes off the colourful scene. "But what if they"-

Again, she's met by nothing but a now colourful space.

"Right. Afterlife ninja. I forgot."

Destiny looked around at the large maze of memories.
She smiled as she heard sounds of her and Navia's younger selves laughing but that was short lived as new noises took over.

"Get out of my room!"
"But Navia"-
"Out!"

"What's wrong with you?!"
"What's wrong with you?!

Destiny furrowed her brows at her short lived moment of joy.

Her and Navia's lives weren't just a majority of shouts and screams...were they?

The two walked in silence for a shirt while before stopping by one of the walls.

"Just like we practiced, okay Dee?" Eight year old Navia whispered to three year old Destiny.
The little version of Destiny nodded her head vigorously.
"Hope you're recording mum."
"Ready when you are sweetie."
"Okay," Navia said as she stood a distance away from Destiny as she fell to the ground very slowly. She placed her palms on the floor first, got on her knees and finally lay down on her back. "Help! Help!"
Destiny giggled and stood by Navia. "What's wrong neighbour?"
"I'm sad. Really sad."
"What's making you sad?" .
"My baby sister's done homeschooling. She's going to big girl school tomorrow and I'm gonna miss her!" Navia made a few crying imitations before peaking at Destiny with one open eye.
"Well neighbour, that's no reason to be sad," Destiny giggled.
"Yes it is."
"Oh," Destiny's smile faded. "You're right.
Destiny sat next to Navia and started crying too.
"No Dee. You're supposed to talk about how my little sister is still gonna come home at the end of the day. Remember?"
Destiny was sobbing uncontrollably.
"Need help honey?"
"I've got it mum."
Destiny sat up wrapped her arms around the quivering Destiny. "Don't worry Dee. At the end of the day, the little sister comes home and everyone's happy in the end. Sorry to spoil the ending for you though."
Destiny sniffed. "Really?"
"Yeah," Navia said with a satisfactory smile. "Really."
