New Feeling

"Y/n...." JJ whispered, trying to get the girls attention. "Pssstt" throwing a piece of paper ball at the back of your head, you closed your eyes shut. Trying to calm yourself down, you viciously turned to him, spitting out the next few words "what!?"

You waited for his reply, only for him to crack an innocent smile. "Nothing..." He started laughing at the girl, that was currently having one eye twitch. Slowly turning back towards the front, she was planning his murder.

BAAM!

The door slammed open, revealing the police. Wait. The police? "Sorry to interrupt. But we need all the kids evacuated and onto the field." The teacher was still from shock.

"HURRY UP LADY!" The policeman yelled, gesturing for us to get out of the class. Snapping out of it she rushed us out as well.

Me and JJ stood on the field with hundreds of other kids. We had to line up in classroom order. Both us were just talking while waiting for the next instructions.

"Listen up! Someone or some people, decided it would be funny to set the science lab on fire." The science teacher stated. Just then I seen the fire truck drive up to the school.

"So please remain here and stay calm." She added, now talking to a policeman. "First day, and there's a fire huh?" JJ snickered. "You should've been here for my first day." I replied, looking at him with a 'y'know what I mean' look.

Looking towards the school building, a heavy feeling overcame me, as if I was supposed to know something that I didn't. And I hated the feeling.

"Let's go buddy!"

"Let's go- Y/n.."

"Let's- Y/nnn?"

"Y/n!"
"Y/n!"

Shooting my head up and staring at JJ with wide eyes, he looked concerned. "Did you zone out?" "Did you hear that?!" I asked desperately, ignoring his question. He didn't answer as he was extremely confused. "Hear what?"

"My name? Someone else called it. Just as soon as you did!" My eyes scrambled amongst the kids that surrounded me. It felt as though I was hearing past sayings.

Or, recalling a memory? A hand touched my shoulder, spinning around it was a policeman. "Are you ok kid?" Nervously laughing shook my head yes. Not wanting to draw anymore attention, I looked at JJ, and said "we should go look for our friends. Right JJ?"

Stomping on his foot, he hissed and said "y-yeah! Have a good day officer!" We then went into the crowd of students. "Y/n what the hell was that?! First you say you're hearing things, and now you're stomping and physically abusing me!?"

He accused pointing at his foot. "Am I a punching bag to you!?" He furiously asked, awaiting for your next sentence of words.

"Well?!" You just sighed and apologised "S-sorry. I just haven't slept properly." Dropping the angry and annoyed mood, his face softened and he hugged you "how many times do I have to tell you to sleep early?" He stated in a motherly voice.

"Many times." "Exactly. And you still don't listen huh?" Pulling away from you, he cupped both sides of your face and examined your features. "Yep. Black bags under those eyes" he pointed out.

Everyone had to go home after thirty minutes of just standing there, and doing nothing. So me and JJ started walking straight away. On the way I seen Gwen, who was Finns sister, walking by herself.

She didn't look happy, not in the slightest. So telling JJ to wait for me, I ran up-to her. "Hey Gwen!" She looked at you, and seemed troubled? "Oh. Hey Y/n..." She calmly greeted.

Something didn't seem right. That same heavy anxiousness feeling came back as I looked into her eyes. She noticed and quickly looked back down at the ground. Grumbling out she said "You should stay away from me and Finn. Same with the other boys"

She warned, looking me in the eyes again. She gave an eerily blank smile, that was devoid of all feelings. As if she was empty. Did she hate me now? Why does literally everyone seem to have a problem with me?!

Standing still, I scratched the back of my head nervously, looking back at JJ for a split second with an awkward expression. "Uhhh ok? Uhm have a nice day and stay safe" Not answering, I finally left, and ran to JJ.

"So?" He asked impatiently. "I don't know. Something seems off. With this whole place." Not questioning it. He stayed silent.

"Aight. Bye y/n, and SLEEP!" Rolling my eyes I laughed at his energetic self. Waving him goodbye he walked to his house.

Sitting in my room I looked out my window. Something was strange. And I didn't like this new sudden feeling. Why today? Was it a sign of something?

This place, the school, and the people. It doesn't sit right with me. This feeling I'm getting, is like the one you get when, a race begins. A game begins. When the chase is begins. When the mystery begins.

Was I supposed to see or understand something? Who knows.

They knew. They always did. They just knew how to hide it....
