Neji was restless that night, tossing and turning with each failed attempt to sleep, unable to stop thinking about the loss of his colleagues, the intense moments they lived with those creatures and how lucky he was that day not to have been bitten in a vital point. The pain in his shoulder reminded him how fleeting and fragile life was and in the midst of these daydreams his thoughts were taken by the memories of that kiss. He couldn't stop thinking about how it felt to touch his lips and how this could maybe be the first and last time.

He sat up in bed and removed his shirt feeling his skin warm. He wanted to go to the next room where she was, tell her what he felt, touch her one more time and give himself to her, and that was what kept her up. She decided to leave the room, stopped in front of the door and felt nervousness take over her, becoming breathless and impatient with herself for not having the courage to slam the door, which she didn't have to, as Tenten opened it unexpectedly.

"Ne-Neji?" - He was startled, but kept his voice low so as not to wake the others. She rubbed her eyes, trying to focus her vision through the darkness. She stared at Neji's bare chest and blushed, feeling grateful that it was dark enough that he couldn't see her right now. 'What are you doing standing there?'

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you... I'm just... restless."

"Can't you sleep either? I was going to get some water... do you want to come?"

"Sure!" – He followed her to the nearest pantry, where there was still a small fridge full of disposable cups with mineral water. Tenten picked up one of them and leaned against the wall facing Neji, who was looking at her deeply.

"What is making you restless, Neji? Is that what happened to you today?" - She sipped the water and approached him to take a closer look at the bandage that Tsunade had made. She touched his shoulder gently, running her fingers through the bandage and then up his arm. Neji felt a chill run through his body.

"That and the fact that I can't stop thinking about you." - Tenten blushed severely and this time Neji could see her with the dim lighting of the machinery around the pantry. He brought his hand to Tenten's flushed face, stroking it with his thumb. "I know that maybe it's too soon to say these things, but I can't stop thinking about our kiss and how much I want more from you Tenten... I don't know how to explain what I'm feeling, but my chest burns all over. time we got closer... I can't stop thinking about the things that have happened to us and how much I'm afraid of losing you..." - He brought his face to hers letting the skin of his cheeks chafe as he brought his lips closer to hers. Tenten's ear, whispering to her.

Tenten gasped trying to find words that matched him as he felt his skin crawl at Neji's closeness. She didn't have time to say anything before Neji brought his lips together and kissed her fervently, invading her mouth with his tongue in a passionate kiss, bringing his right hand to the back of Tenten's neck to keep her trapped in his kiss as he took his left to hers. your waist keeping your bodies close together. "We're seeing you." – He heard Itachi's voice alert through the small surveillance camera above their heads.

"Sorry."

Neji said laughing along with Tenten, but he wasn't intimidated by it. He braced his hands on Tenten's thighs and lifted her onto his lap so she was facing him. Tenten braced her legs around Neji's waist, laughing even more at the attitude as he walked them back to the barracks. Tenten kissed and sucked the skin on his neck along the way, teasing him even more. He closed the door to his room as he entered and placed her against the wall, pressing his body against hers as he returned to invest a passionate kiss.
