Skylar Miller was only ten years old when everything began to fall apart. First, it was the quiet disappearances-one sibling at a time-until only three of her siblings remained in her life. Then came the accident, a day that left her with more than...

"I know what I did was wrong. I know that, now. You are the reflection of everything I have done wrong in my life, and I wish I could go back and change it all, but I can't. I can't, so I'll sit here, and wait. Wait for you to understand I know my wrongs and rights"
"Jay, Jay, Jay" the constant shove at my body made me groan, as I rolled away from the insistent pushing continued. I pressed my head further into the pillow, knowing that summer had just started today, and I was more than happy to lay in bed for hours on end. I had every right to do so, as I was 16, and didn't need to be doing anything yet.
I knew that Riley and Shane were at work, and Grayson would be leaving for work soon, meaning I had to get up, but most of them could look after themselves. I was sure the little trio would be keeping themselves occupied and away from Summer, as she was standing next to my bed, trying to get me up.
If only Skylar knew, she wasn't the only one that had to bow down to her sister, she would push back more, as we all would. But Riley had told us not too. To not mess with the bear with the sore head, even though we wanted to, so badly. "What?" I bit at my sister, finally opening my eyes, rolling them as she stared at me with that stupid smile.
I regret waking up today, and seeing that stupid smile. I had found it easier and easier, to push her away, and towards her own devices, leaving her with George to do her dirty work, instead of me. I had made it clear to her, about just over 2 years ago, that I was done with the way she treated everyone. Grayson had done the same, only a little earlier than I had, and I really wish that I had done it before.
"Can you make me some pancakes with a side of banana and strawberries, but only the good ones" I groaned into my pillow, before I turned back to my sister. "You're 14, do it yourself" and then I heard her stomp out of my room, and thank god for it. I sat up, and slowly got myself ready for the day, after my sister had ruined my start to the day.
"Hey J, I'm heading to work. Shane will be back in a few hours" I just nodded at Grayson, as he walked past our room, before he headed out the front door, while I prepared myself for the day ahead, with Summer demanding we all did everything for her. I really wish my parents had never done such a thing, but it was too late for that now.

"Hey ,you guys hungry yet?" I had just finished my duties in the house, and was more than glad that I had been left doing the harder tasks, away from Summer, who only had to do her own laundry, which was mandatory by all of us, except for the littles and the twins, as they were too young to use a washing machine and dryer. Riley's orders, that we all pull our weight.
So, I had finally had the chance to see the littles after being stuck in the house with Summer and George, constantly arguing about everything I did, and how they could do it better, but I just turned up the music in my ears. I sat down next to Skylar, and she moved herself a little closer to me, and away from the boys that were throwing sand at one another.
