"They say blood is thicker than water, but for some reason, those that are blood related to me, don't care about my success. They only care about my downfall, and how hard they can make me hit the ground, when I walk through the front door. They don't care that I am their little sister, as they just want to tear me down"

"I can just see it. The finish line, being able to run through it, and the ribbon splitting in half, before the medal is handed over your head. I can see it all" Oliver exclaimed as we walked towards the school doors, and I wanted to shiver. Noah had had football practice this morning, so he couldn't drop Luke and I off this morning, which meant that someone else had to take us.

Shane had to go into work early this morning, so he was gone before we had even woken up to Noah's yelling match with Riley and Grayson, when one of them had asked to drop him, but he had initially politely denied, until they pushed him. He ended up going with one of his buddies, which meant Luke and I had to get our own way.

Now, the bus would have been a viable option for us, as we had taken it for years before Noah could drive, but the mere thought of getting on the bus and seeing Layla, was enough to make me turn around. Luke had obliged, and not said a word when Jay had dropped us off this morning. But, I hated the stares that were aimed my way, and my brothers retreating car.

It was unusual, for myself and my brothers to be seen climbing out of such an expensive vehicle, so I knew that would be the talk of the town. How we were probably selling illegal drugs and before we knew it, the police would be at our house, demanding to know who lived there and who didn't. It had happened before, and most of my brothers had had to clear out, that were  over the age of 18.

So, I had just turned my head down, letting Oliver's rambling distract me from my impending doom. My worst nightmare. People were talking yesterday, and if they found out that I had shared dinner with them last night, it would be worse. It would be worse, knowing I had gotten stuck sitting between an angry Noah, whom had left halfway through the dinner, and Riley. I had wanted to puke, then and there.

He had watched my every move, and I wanted to kick him so hard, for doing such a thing. He didn't have the right, to watch me in the way he was. He didn't have to sit next to me, and show me what it was like to have a brother that had the arm of a tree trunk, covered in tattoos, which I could see very clearly, had my name on it.

It should never be there, with the family name right in the middle, showing to everyone how much he devoted to his family, when in reality, he hadn't been home in 6 years. 6 whole years, yet he wanted us to all sit down for dinner. Even the twins were listening to him. Everybody but Summer, listened to him. Back then, her behavior was due to the grief she was dealing with, at the time.

And we all were. We were all grieving, but it wasn't okay for us to grieve in silence, when it came to Summer. If you were to grieve, you were supposed to grieve in loud, giant bursts that made everyone else's life miserable. But, what Summer did last night, was not okay in my books. It was like she was airing out everyone's dirty laundry but her own.
