Skylar Miller was only ten years old when everything began to fall apart. First, it was the quiet disappearances-one sibling at a time-until only three of her siblings remained in her life. Then came the accident, a day that left her with more than...

"The comfort from those that aren't family, are greater than those that tell you, that they are your family. Family means nothing, if they can't say to your face how much they love you. They only tell you how much they hate you"
Even though I had slept through the entire night, not even waking for dinner, I still wasn't hungry. Food wasn't my first thought, for that matter. My first thought, was how I was going to stay out of the house for the entire day, considering it was now the weekend, meaning that my siblings would be lingering now, more than ever.
I had heard a few of them leave, and a few return this morning. I knew a few had stayed over night. "She hasn't woken up to eat the dinner I left last night" someone murmured out the front of my door, and I felt immediate panic, after hearing that voice. Anybody but that person, could stand out the front of my room, and talk about my eating habits.
He was the cause of it all, really. I knew I shouldn't pin it on him, but sometimes, it was a lot easier to make it clear, who was at fault and who wasn't. Along with most of my siblings, I knew that they had been good with one another, but it was just me. It was only me, and when I had asked Shane a few times, even he didn't understand it, but the two of us always put it down to this.
When Riley still lived here and was the sole provider of the house, he had always pointed out how small I was. He would pull me in for a hug, and say he could feel my ribs, or if I was simply just walking around the house, he would say the way I didn't even reach above the counter top at my age. He even made it clear, whenever we drove anywhere, he had to drive me most of the time because he had a car seat permanently in his car, even when I was above the age of needing one.
But, due to how small I was, I still needed one. Due to this constant time together, some of my older siblings got jealous of us being together all the time. They thought we were the best of friends, and I was just getting special treatment. It was worse, when doctors said that I had to be on a meal plan, meaning dairy had to be one of the main products.
No tests were done on whether or not I was allergic to anything, just that I needed a diet. I had to be tall and have muscle to compete in surfing competitions. That was Riley's main focus. When it was made clear that Riley made separate meals, and being in a large house, attention was hard to come by. Noah, Luke, and the twins had little to no problem. The twins were just their usual selves, just teasing and mocking us.
But Summer, hated it. Grayson complained all the time, that I caused so much of a problem with travelling places. George teamed up with Summer, and basically made sure that I didn't exist. Jay joined in from time to time, liking to mock and, sometimes, make sure I felt hurt. He was a middle child, so it was bound to happen.
The eldest three, known as Shane, Riley and Grayson, ruled the house, so they never really made it obvious, only I was clearly a thorn in Riley's side. It was the middles, that were the problem. The trio, that could rein in just about anyone and everyone. They had the most sway in the house, probably even more than Riley had, which was the scary part of it.
