"Really?!" Aether asked happily. He almost dropped the Mint Jelly as he took it out of the fridge. "Mhm." Lumine nodded with a very happy smile. He served the desert on the table with a cute panda design on it. He hugged Lumine tightly. "Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, Lumi."
Lumine hugged her brother back. She considered this as a way to say thank you. After all, he raised her. He taught her everything. He's the best big brother she ever had. She wants to be with him forever.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's celebrate!" Aether pulled her towards the living room to watch movies with her. "Let's watch The Archon War. Xiangling recommended it to me." Lumine suggested. "Sure." Aether agreed and they got the movie rolling.
"Why?!?!" Lumine cried out. "H-hey, Lumi calm down." Aether patted her back and pulled her in closer. "Why does she have to die?! Guizhong!! Don't leave Morax!" She bawled. "Hey, it's just a movie. Calm down now."
Aether wiped her tears and patted her head. "There, there. Calm down, it's just a movie." She calmed down. "But it's too sad. That scene is so sad. She died is his beloved's arms. It's so tragic!"
Aether giggled at his sister's reaction. That scene reminded him of what happened a hundred years ago. When he lost her, he felt the same way as what the man on the movie felt. Now that she had returned, he won't let that happen to her again. This time, he'll make sure to protect her.
"Aether? Are you okay?"
Lumine waved her hand in front of him and that caught his attention. "H-hm?" He looked at her. "Why did you look all serious all of a sudden? Is something wrong?" She had a worried expression plastered on her face.
"No, I'm fine. I'm just a little tired and sleepy." He yawned and smiled at her. "Let's go to bed now, then." Lumine suggested. He nodded and took her to her room. He tucked her in for the night and went to his respective room.
He plopped on the bed and stared at the flower on his nightstand. It was the same flower that Lumine had been wearing from her past life. He recalled everything. That very day when he lost her.
Flashback...
"Lumine... I'm sorry." Aether cried as he looked at his twin's grave. It was covered with flowers, candles and gifts. In the same grave was her beloved. "I've been watching the both of you ever since the two of you first met." He remembered seeing them together. Doing commissions, fighting his people and hanging out.
He smiled softly. "I didn't even get to know him properly. But I can tell, he genuinely cared for you." He felt weak. He left her behind. She had no contact with him but he clearly knows what she has been doing for he watches from a far.
"If this world's gods won't give you back to me, then I'll do it myself." He said to himself. "I know you're there." He said coldly. "Forgive me, oh Prince." The Herald appeared. "I ordered that I needed time alone... Forget it. Let's pay a little visit to the City of the Wind."
End of flashback...
He sighed of relief. Now that his sister is back, he should take absolute care of her. "Now, what could I do to make Lumine happier?" He stared at the ceiling until he fell asleep.
"So, where are you gonna go for the summer?" Paimon asked Lumine. "Hm? Oh yeah. I haven't thought about it yet." They're both eating at a cafe. "I don't actually mind staying at home-"
Paimon stuffed Berry Cheesecake into her mouth. "Oh no you don't. Your supposed to have fun at summer! So I don't suggest you stay in doors." She interrupted her.
Lumine swallowed the food and thought to herself. "Hmm... I don't exactly know where to have a vacation." She admitted. Paimon sighed. Her eyes sparked when she remembered something. "How about we go to Liyue together?!"
"Liyue?" Lumine took a sip of her Coffee. "Mhm. Xiangling said that there's a fun festival about to come this summer. We should definitely go."
Lumine thought to herself. Sure, her and her brother took vacations around Monstadt but never traveled out of the nation. They went to Dragonspine last summer. Maybe she should ask Aether about their trip.
"Sure. I'll talk to Aether about this." Lumine smiled brightly. She wants to learn more about this world before she and her brother leaves and goes to another to travel.
Paimon gave her a big hug and a smile on her ear that reached ear to ear. Xiangling went up to them with the bill. "Here you go, girls. Pay up your part. I already paid mine."
Lumine took out her wallet and paid. Paimon poked her fingers together. She can already tell what that face is trying to say. Lumine paid Paimon's bill. "I'm sorry, Lumine. I promise that I'll treat you when we go to Liyue!"
She just sighed and knew too well what will happen. She's been with her from the start so she doesn't mind. Paimon has been a good friend to her. "Alright! I'm taking my leave now. I have to go home now. Bye."
"Sure, take care. Let's go, Gouba." Xiangling carried the small bear eating off the last piece of the cake. Lumine walked out of the cafe. She walked to a nearby bus stop. Her phone suddenly rang. Aether is calling her. She immediately answered.
"Hey, Aether. What is it?"
"Lumi! Can you come over the studio?"
"Sure. I was about to go home but I can go there now."
"Great! See you, sis. Love you."
Aether hung up the call. Lumine smiled at the Aether's phone number. "I love you, too, brother." The studio is nearby so she decided to walk. She put on her earphones and played her favorite song. It's one of the most famous songs of 5wirl. She hummed with the tune and happily walked to the studio.
