Chapter 9:Strange Yet Too Familiar for a Dream

Lumine opened her eyes only to wake up with her walking in a dark void. "Hello?" She called out. No one answered and her voiced echoed throughout the black nothingness.

"Aether? Are you there?!" She ran and looked around. Only to see darkness. "Where the hell am I?" She looked around panicking.

"Paimon?! Aether?! Xiao?! Kazuha?! Venti?! Heizou?! Where are you guys?! Where am I?" She cried out worriedly.

The black space is scaring her. The deafening silence surrounded her. "Aether... Where are you?"

She kneeled down and cried. When she looked up, the place is now covered with stars and a giant tree casting a white shadow by the moon in front of her.

Her tears running down her face. There's no one there to help her. She kept calling them out. Yet, not a single one showed up.

"Help me, please..." She hitched and began to cry even more. "A-Ajax..."

"Ajax?.. Who is he?" Lumine questioned to herself.

Who is this Ajax? Why did I say that? Is it just a word that a read from a book and called out? What or who is this 'Ajax'?

All she could think of now is Ajax. She doesn't even know a person who goes by that name. Something inside her told her to call out for this 'Ajax's' help.

"A-Ajax.. help me. I-I'm... S-scared."

She hugged her knees and hid her face with it. A few seconds of silence and she heard a voice.

"Lumine.. are you okay?"

Lumine looked behind her and saw a tall man with ginger hair and ocean blue eyes. He's wearing a very unusual outfit.

"Childe..." Lumine bursted into tears as she runs towards him. She embraced this man and cried. "Hey, what happened? What's wrong?" He returned the hug to this petite girl.

"You're... Finally here." She hugged him even tighter. Lumine looked at her almost empty bag of Primogems. "... It's worth of all the wishes. Teucer told me that if you could... Quit your job, you want to accompany me in my travels, right?"

Ajax pulled her in closer. "Teucer said that to you?" He asked and Lumine nodded at him while she's smiling in tears. He wiped her tears off pulled her in even closer. She snuggled on his chest and wrapped her arms around her beloved.

"I... I didn't know that... You want me to have an adventure with you. You even wished for me." Childe turned pink at the thought of that. He harmed her before but she still wants him on her team. He missed her. She hasn't sparred with him for so long so he was bored and lonely when he has nothing to do.

Childe inhaled her scent. She smells like the Wind Asters. They stayed that way for a while, inhaling her scent and familiarizing it.

"So, what will be our first travel together?" He asked her. Lumine smiled at him and held his hand. "Let's hang out for a bit first."

"We're here in Monstadt so let's go around." She lead the way. "So, where's Paimon?" Childe asked. "She's with Xiangling today. I told her that I needed some fresh air."

"Oh... was it about what happened with your brother?.." he asked trying not to offend her in anyway.

"Yeah.. it's okay. I'll find him one day. I'll figure out what's going on. But..." Lumine stopped walking and looked at his eyes. "Let's have fun for now." She started to run across the fields with this man. Childe was very happy when he found out that she wished for him to come with her in her adventures. He'll make sure to fight by her side and enjoy the thrill of battle with her. For now, he had to make sure to make her happy. She went through a lot as to what he have heard from his informants. She sure is a tough girl.
