The rest of the week flies by far too quickly for Bucky's liking. By Sunday evening, Bucky is helping Nora load her suitcase and Rusty (along with his carrier) into an Uber. She gives him a big hug and his heart breaks a little and he doesn't want to let her go.
"Thank you for letting me stay with you," she says softly. "I had a really great time."
"Me too. It was nice not to be alone."
Nora pulls back and beams at him.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go shopping for a tux and maybe a dress for me to wear so that we can look like a couple?"
Bucky nods. Shopping? As in watching her try on dresses and clothes? And he can't even touch her?
"Y- yeah, yeah that'd be great."
"Cool!"
Bucky nods, blushing softly.
"That sounds great."
"Okay. Thanks again, Bucky."
"Hey, if your bathroom explodes again, just let me know and I'll pick you up in a heartbeat."
She giggles.
"That's really sweet." Nora pouts a little. "I'm gonna miss you!"
"Hey, next week, we'll be in Paris."
"Right, and it's not like we can't just hang out on the regular."
"Exactly," Bucky laughs.
Both of them are trying to hide their own disappointment that their little stint as roommates is coming to an end.
"Oh! I was going to ask you, we're having a little Halloween party at the book store tomorrow night."
"It's October 20th," Bucky replies.
"Aaaaand we get on a plane to Paris next week. Remember? A week before the wedding and a week after?"
"Right," Bucky whispers.
Nora bites her lip.
"Wooooould you, Sam, Peter, and Kate want to join us? It's just going to be Kari, this lawyer guy she's dating, myself, and Valerie - she's our part-time weekend person. She's very cool, very into computers so her and Peter would have a lot to talk about. He's the tech wiz, right?"
