BRUCE
"Bruce?"... i heard and my eyes instantly opened. It was my mom, "is that really you?" I sat up slowly. "Mom? You can see me?" She started walking slowly. "Mhm." She nodded and stated with a whiny voice.
"How- how can you see me?" I stood up from the bed. She didn't answer me, she slowly started walking then ran to me, giving me a hug. "My love, I've missed you." She placed her palm on the back of my head. I slowly hugged her back. "Mom, am I dreaming?" Tears threatened to spill from my eyes.
"Trust me," she sniffled, "this is real."

We were at the park... I was sitting on the tall platform by the slide. Andrew was standing on one of the rails next to me. "Get down, you're gonna get hurt," I laughed as I held onto my stomach. "Thanks for the suggestion mom, but i think im fine where I am." He shrugged. "Wow so funny," I rolled my eyes, "it's on you if you get hurt, I warned you!" I sipped my drink.
"I'll live with that," he jumped down and stood next to me. "Okay listen, maybe we should go back to your house, and stay there yknow' sense your parents aren't there." He sat down and I looked at the platform. "uh yeah, about that. They're back home, Surprise...." I said sarcastically.
"Oh, when did they get back home?" He looked me in the eyes. "I guess yesterday, I didn't ask them." I played with my fingers. He nodded and we just sat in silence. The breeze became heavy and loud as it threw leaves off the trees. We were drowned in silence, I leaned onto one of the poles.
"I fucked up big time." I finally spoke as I drug my hands down my face. "Why you say that?" He nodded to me and took a sip of his slushy. "The Lindsey situation, aka the whole reason on why we're here." "Ohh, haha yea." I nodded slightly. I sighed then thunder struck.
"Jeez can this day get any fucking worse?" "Hey, hey look on the bright side. At least you're not dealing with this by yourself." He shrugged. "Yea I guess."

The rain slowly covered the concrete in darkness. "Look we should just go home now, it's really dark out and I'm pretty sure the punishment won't be that bad." Andrew spoke as we swung in sync on the swings. I dropped my head down a bit. "I guess you're right." I slowly stopped swinging and stood up. I grabbed my bag that was leaning on the pole.
We slowly began walking to the direction of my house. We were in complete silence half of the way there. I honestly sorta felt comfortable in this silence, I could kinda tell that Andrew felt the same from the slight smile that was placed on his face. This feeling felt very familiar to me, Bruce.
*flashback*
"Jesus it's cold out here." I rubbed my arms with my palms. Bruce and I were leaving the baseball field around seven o'clock. I looked at Bruce to see him unzipping his jacket down. He slid it off his arms and put it on my shoulders. "This will make you feel better." He rubbed my arms. "Thanks." I smiled slightly. "No problem, you're my best friend anyways."
"And you're my best friend also." I looked at him and kissed his cheek. His face turned to a slight red color. "Are you blushing over me!?" I laughed. "No! Yes... maybe!" He covered his face with his right palm. "Awww, I made Bruce Jean Yamada blush!" I laughed at him. "Oh hush, it's not that special." He playfully rolled his eyes. I shrugged and smiled a bit.
*present time*
"god I miss him." I whispered under my breathe, or atleast I thought. "Miss who?" Andrew invaded my thoughts. I looked at him, "I-uh, no one."
