March 16th, 1978Y/N POV
A GAME OF BASEBALL... his face instantly lit up. We quickly stood up and ran downstairs. "I'll go get a bat from my house, I'll meet you there!" And with that he ran the opposite direction of me.
I continued running to the baseball field. It didn't take me long at all. I opened the gate and walked to home plate. I imagined a ball soaring through the sky and cheers roaring from the crowd. I began to jog to first base, then second, third, then back to home. I felt like talking to Bruce so I was gonna call him until Finney showed up. "Bru-"
"Hey y/n! I got a ball and a bat!" He opened the gate and ran to me. "Bat," he raised his bat. "Or ball?" He lifted that as well. "Ball!" I grabbed it and got to my position. "You ready?!" I yelled to him. "Yep!" He got in position. I winded my arm up and pitched the ball. He swung the bat and the ball glided through the air.
"Nice one Finn!" I cheered. "Thank you! And that was a really good pitch!" I ran up to him at home plate. "Can I try to bat?" "Of course!" He handed me the bat and he ran to get the ball that was located in outfield. He ran back to the pitchers mound. He warmed his arm up, "okay I'm gonna go easy first!" He pitched the ball.
I swung the bat but missed. I was embarrassed, "hey, it's okay. This isn't a real game so we can do it however many times we want." I nodded and tossed the ball to him. He winded his arm again and pitched it. I hit the ball but it didn't get far, it just rolled in front of him. "It's a start!" He chuckled and I smiled.

We finally decided to leave after about an hour of Finney teaching me how to hit the baseball correctly. "You did good today, Bruce would be proud." He put his hand on my shoulder. "Yeah," I smiled at him. "he would." We walked outside of the field. "Do you know the time?" "Yea it's," he looked has his wristwatch, "6:00, I'm gonna have to head home soon."
"Okay!" We began walking to my house, it didn't take long to get there. Once we arrived Finn went to my room and grabbed his belongings. "I'll see you tomorrow!" He ran to the front door. "Bye Finn!" I waved and he closed the door. I began walking to my room when I heard a lock turn behind me. I quickly turned around and it was just Bruce locking the door.
"Jesus you scared me." I held onto my chest. "Sorry, I just want you to be safe." He started walking to me. "It's fine, come on." I grabbed his arm and speed walked to my room. "Woah, what's the rush?" He asked as I jumped onto my bed. "No reason at all." I shrugged. He walked to me and laid down on me.
His head was on my chest so I began playing with his hair. "Yknow, the day before I disappeared, I was actually on my way to your house to ask you if I could be your boyfriend." I started smiling but at the same time I was upset. "Really?" I said as tears slowly began rolling down my cheeks. I kept my composure though, I didn't want him to worry right now.
"Yeah, I had finally gained confidence because I thought you wanted me also." He sounded disappointed. "I still do want you, why do you think I always go to the baseball field?" He sat up and looked at me. "Because it reminds of you, you at the baseball field is the last memory I have of you." The tears finally got to me, "no no please don't cry." He sat next to me and pulled me into a hug. His chin was resting on my head.
"I love you, I truly do love you." He rubbed my arm. "I wish I was still alive, I wanted to grow old with you, I wanted to marry you. I still do, but I can't." "Yes, yes you can. I'll.. I'll just die and we can be together forever, a-and everything will be good! It'll be perfec-" "y/n I'm not gonna let you die. I'm being serious, you're gonna continue your life. I don't care what you say, I'm not letting you hurt or harm yourself."
I started sobbing. He put his hand on the back of my head and pushed me to his chest. I placed my hand on his chest a grabbed his shirt. "I'm gonna start a shower for you." He kissed my forehead and stood up. I laid down and played with my hands. "It's warming up, head to the restroom, I'll get you some clothes." He grabbed my hand and stood me up. I walked to the bathroom.

I finished showering and grabbed my towel. I dried off and opened the door to see my clothes folded on the floor. I picked them up and started getting dressed. I walked out the bathroom with my dirty clothes in my hands. When I entered my room I saw Bruce laying on his stomach while reading a book on my bed. I threw my clothes into the hamper near my dresser and walked over to him.
"Do you feel any better?" He kept his eyes on the book. "Yea, I guess so." I straddled him and laid my head on his back. "Whatcha reading?" "The Stand by Stephen King." I rubbed his upper arm. "That's my favorite book." "I know, that's why I'm reading it." He closed the book, I got off of him and laid on my back next to him.
I just admired his face, "Have you ever tried to clean the blood up?" He shook his head. "Stay right here." I quickly got up and dampened a small towel. I walked in and sat beside him. I placed my hand under his chin and wipe the blood. "I hate seeing you like this. This will make me feel better. Maybe even you." I was so focused on cleaning all his cuts that I didn't realize him staring at me.
"After I finish maybe you can try taking a shower and you can wear some of the clothes you gave me." "Okay." I could hear his smirk. I finished up and patted his cheek. "Alright I'm done. Go shower." He got up and walked to the restroom. I got him one of his shirts and a pair of my oversized shorts. I placed them outside the door and started reading the book from the beginning.

"Y/n I don't love you anymore." I stood in disbelief. "W-what-" "I don't love you, I can't stand anything about you. Cindy is better than you, everything about her is better than you! I need you to leave me alone." "Don't do this to me." "Get out y/n." He backed away. "Bruce!" I got closer to him and grabbed his shirt. "Don't do this! You know I need you! Why are you doing this!" "Get away from me!" He pushed me.
I grabbed his arm."I need you! I'm not letting you leave me, we planned our lives together! How do you expect me to move on without you?!" "Well I don't need you, I never liked you, I used you. Do you not get that? Does your small brain not get that? Just stay away from me, you freak!"
The word echoed in my head 'freak'. I started crying loudly. "Y/n?" I heard but it was muffled. "Y/n!" Someone was shaking me. "Y/n!" I finally came back to reality, my breathing was heavy, I was hyperventilating. I couldn't control myself, my right hand grabbed the cover as my left grabbed his arm. "Hey, calm down I'm here." I couldn't hear him, I was blacked out.
"Y/n, hey! I'm here, you're okay! Calm down please!" He sat me up and rubbed my back. "Try to tell me what happened, please?"I frantically looked around my room. "I..I need to go." I tried standing up from the bed but his grabbed my arm and pulled me to him. "This is my last time asking, tell me what happened. Please?" He was pleading I made eye contact with him, I had to tell him."I..I had a dream that," I was still out of breathe, "you were," I started panicking. "You.. you, you we're leaving me for Cindy Parkdale, a-and you also said," i sniffled as I began to tear up. "That you were using me, and that you never liked me!" "What? You know I would never say those words to you."
"I would never hurt you." He examined my face "Listen to me, I promise on everything I love I'd never use or hurt you." He placed his palm on my cheek. "You promise?"we made eye contact. "I promise. You're the only girl I've ever wanted." He wrapped his arm around me and laid down with me on his side. "Come on, go back to sleep." He rubbed my shoulder, I put my head on his chest and slowly drifted off into sleep.
