Everything was red. All Grian could see was an endless void of red. Except it ended with a man. A tall man, with a large scar covering the entire left side of his face and body. And, he wasn't wearing a shirt. Grian should know who this person is, but Grian didn't. What Grian did know was that he had to win. And to win he had to kill this man in front of him.
He had to win, so before running, he whispered, "I'm sorry." Before leaping for the kill. And the man with the scar did the same. They were stuck in a dance, a dangerous tango. Adrenaline rushed through Grian's body, every single punch he landed felt exhilarating. He hardly noticed his own body taking damage. And he didn't notice the man's eyes turn from a murderous red to a dazzeling green.
All Grian saw was his opponent, and his opponent faltered. And Grian didn't notice himself delivering the final blow. He definitely didn't notice the man loosen his shoulders. He definitely didn't notice the man accepting his death.
And then Scar was dying. Red slowly faded from Grian's vision as he took in his surroundings. He was on Monopoly Mountain. He had a warm liquid dripping down his hands. Looking down at his palms he saw the all too familiar red liquid of blood. Then he saw Scar.
Quickly he rushed over to him. To his relief there was no trace of the red in his eyes. Pure, beautiful green stared up at Grian instead. And then he noticed the blood from his head. There was a lot of blood. And then there was Scar.
Tears were already welling at Grian's eyes and beginning to fall. "No! Scar, why did I do this I- No this can't be happening. Just stay awake! I'm sure Scott's base has some healing-"
Grian was interrupted by Scar, "I forgive you."
No, this isn't happening, closing his eyes and on the verge of shouting Grian continued, "Scar, you don't understand! I've been keeping a secret! I just need to-"
Again, Scar's stupidly soft voice cut him off, "I forgive you."
He stopped this time, looking at the man clearly in so much pain that he caused. Practically screaming he blubbered on, "No! I can fix this! I can keep you alive. Just keep your stupidly pretty eyes open please..."
Why again did Scar waste his delicate voice, "I forgive..." Grian opened his eyes. Scar didn't finish his sentence. Why didn't he finish his sentence? His natural green eyes were purple. No. They can't be purple. If they were purple he was dead. But his eyes were closing.
"Scar? No! Please! Just stay awake! That's all I need! Please..." Scar's eyes didn't open. Scar wasn't breathing. "No... No. No! Don't you die on me! You promised we would leave! Once the world border was gone! Look, it's gone now. You never break your promises. You can't be dead because then I killed you."
Scar did not respond. Quickly Grian turned over his arm. The three hearts that were red before were now purple. Grian looked back at Scar's face. His eyes were completely closed, yet he had a sort of smile on his face. Wasn't that funny. He was happier killed by his best friend than alive. No, Scar couldn't die. Grian stepped back from Scar's body. Collapsing in on himself, several pairs of wings appeared behind his back as eye materiales on the front and back. Two rings with eyes littered on them floated around his head. Grian looked like a watcher. Grian was a watcher. Yet he didn't care. He needed to save Scar.
Pouring as much energy as he could into his hands, he took Scar's. Immediately every single eye opened. Each blinking out of sync they focused on Scar. Grian felt his body get uncomfortably hot, but he couldn't care. He just had to save Scar.
When Scar's eyes didn't open Grian began begging, "Come on Scar, please. Just wake up! Just open your stupid eyes. That's all I need. Please just do something!" Scar didn't do anything, and Grian just sobbed harder.
